Only thing u mentioned here that's important is the WIFI. If you been to many island you'll see or understand that bugs,mosquitoes, lizard 🦎 etc and stray dogs as how you call them are popular on every island country. Plus! All of those are also in Florida since Florida is no further described as an island.

As a Black American Male from Los Angeles who currently lives in Jakarta, I had a problem with some of the Australian's in Bali. Some of them are rude and they think they own the place. My Wife is Indonesian so we do get a lot of looks as well. We plan to move back to Bali in 2023 but, I really need to find a good place to live. We do have Geckos here in Jakarta and I live on the 21st floor of a High Rise. 😎

Bali. Paradise Lost. I lived there for 14 years up until 2011. It is now overdeveloped, and the infrastructure is awful. It still has its charms, but it will never be the same.

I am quite biased with saying dating is hard as it sound like you don't wanna date locals, only rich westerners. There are plenty of Indonesians (I am married to one), so I don't see why it is hard to find someone unless U wanna show off ?

The problem is people go to a third world country and want to live like they did in the U.S. In the summer in most place in the U.S there are bugs and mosqitoes. If you go to a third world country wanting to look glamorous all the time, and have all the convenienes you have in the US then stay in the U.S. I have been in quite a few countries outside the U.S and I like them all better than the U.S because of the authentic and genuine warmth of the people, and a more peacful, non stressful environment which is the most important thing for me.

Nice that your parents are relaxed about you moving out there. If my son moved to another country I would relax and let him. Not put my fears on him.
