I use a windows touchscreen asus rog and an iPad Pro m2 . I do all my art on my iPad and then upload to sites from my iPad. Then I work on the web design with the windows laptop. I prefer the iPad Pro over anything though. As I am a touchscreen guy. I am primarily an artist though. I use the pro for web design also sometimes as the m2 is strong and with a good mouse it can accomplish working on websites okay.
ОтветитьThe iPad is great as it is and it’s capable of doing so many laptop-things efficiently. Sure it won’t replace a laptop because it wasn’t made to do that.
Why do we expect everything to have everything these days? Each has its own purpose & use.

ОтветитьCompare iPad and MacBook ? If I will compare firs5 question I will ask if I need iPad can I use MacBook Air instead ? And I’d I need MacBook can I use iPad instead ? I believe answer will help decide …
ОтветитьI have the iPad, and I have always wondered what this monstrous device (12.9”) will be used for. I used to think that I was going to use for outlook and some web apps, but I just can’t get myself to get used to the mobile OS, it is simply not what I need or what I can use consistently
It is a great hotspot device though
I’ve had 3 iPads now and all still in use, my iPad Pro is about 6years old so would like to update now and my others which the family use are even older but still going okay, however what I wanted to ask is I am obviously apple crazy! As I have 3 iMacs in the office and a MacBook Pro 13” just over 3years old now. Ready for a new one!!! And think I really like the MacBook Air in midnight 😊. I’m in financial services so use them daily but for things like CRM systems and web based financial software so not really editing stuff just little bits for social media channel, so would you guys opt for this or MacBook Pro again? Sorry long post 😂 still want another new iPad though 🤦♂️
ОтветитьSo for me, I have the iPad Pro 2020 12.9 inch and I am a 9-5 full time worker and a full-time college student with five classes , before my iPad I seem to be doing great and I didn’t need my laptop. I am now going into PhD programs and some of the programs do not work on my iPad , so it turns out I still need my laptop. I recently noticed even though you have an iPad Pro it may not 100% it replace your laptop. Honestly It all depends on if you’re a college student or just using basics apps or not and even if you’re a college student it will depends on the degree title and what programs you’re using for the degree degrees. I can’t wait for my iPad Pro to replace my laptop completely one day. I love having my iPad Pro , It has brought so much versatility and joy to my life, especially because it is my notebook. I do not like paper, so my iPad is where I take all my notes, especially when it came towards my foreign language I’m learning😊.
ОтветитьiPad is my main computer and I don’t even think when I choose it over the MacBook because in my opinion the laptop formfactor is too old and absolutely not versatile which is super important today. There is no cellular module, there is no touchscreen, no Pencil, the keyboard is always with you wether you need it or not and that positions are critical to me.
ОтветитьI have iPad Pro 2018 with jump desktop setup so I can remote into the pc for windows environment and recently I got the m2 air 16gb/512gb and… I don’t really use it, no Face ID unlock… I am also used to full screen app.
ОтветитьIf you're a programmer, ipad won't be a practical choice.
ОтветитьI totally agree about the pen spinning part 🙃
ОтветитьAre your desktop speakers bose? And do you connect with your mac via bluetooth? Are there any sound delays?
ОтветитьDoes the paperlike screen protector make sense for media consumption as well or is it mostly for people using the pen to write or draw?
Ответитьi use to do creative workflow..like design adn drawing..but on ipad M1 still lg chmp!
ОтветитьDo you use the 11inch or 12.9inch?
ОтветитьHey oliur love your videos. I am wondering if you could post a video on lighting. The information here will be extremely useful to me in deciding what kind of lighting I want for my own bedroom.
ОтветитьHey do you have telegram account?
ОтветитьI use my iPad mainly for my study. From writing to highlight a text using Apple Pencil has improved my studying experience.
ОтветитьThe only reason I even consider the iPad as a main driver would be for Davinci Resolve, but it hurts so much to spend more on an iPad and accessories to make it more like a touchscreen MacBook, yet the MacBook can cost less and be much more user-friendly at times. The iPad Pro series is definitely stuck in a weird limbo or wanting to be a MacBook, yet wanting to be a tablet.
ОтветитьFigma is supposed to come to the iPad. If that happen and cellular networks, it means I can work anywhere in the world.
ОтветитьReally random. Don't know if you're a fan of Star Wars but you have the looks and voice to be Grand Admiral Thrawn in live action I think.
Ответитьmy little niece has got the crustiest dustiest dirtiest iPad in the world😭
ОтветитьI’m so confused between getting an iPad or the MacBook. I’m a content creator so I will be using mostly for editing pictures and videos what would you recommend I buy for the purpose I need it????
ОтветитьI think I'm in the same position as you. I use design apps like Figma, Framer, Spline, etc, regularly for work and personal use. All those apps have web versions that I thought I could use on my iPad Pro. I bought the 2020 iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard when they first launched, thinking I could replace my aging 2014 15" MacBook Pro with it. After two years of frustration, I ended up selling it and buying the new iPad mini, which I love. I stopped trying to do work on the iPad and now use it for more iPad-like things... surfing the web, drawing, watching movies and playing games. Ironically, I still have my 2014 MacBook Pro which I can still (just about) design on, and it's still way more useful that my iPad Pro ever was.
ОтветитьAre you still an iPad mini person?
ОтветитьThey should have os like mac but new look
ОтветитьDaVinici is due as a free download before the end of the year. There will be an in-app purchase for ResolveStudio @ $95 👍
The refined external monitor support is expected in 16.2🎉
iPadOS has held me back from using my iPad Pro 11” the way I want to so, while I use it every day, it’s a glorified note taking device with occasional writing, consumption. I’m downgrading to an iPad mini to see if that’s a better fit for my workflows alongside my MBP.
ОтветитьI can't take my 16-inch Mac with me every day, and I use Ipad as a portable and second display device. Bought an iPad Pro M1 256GB (Like new) + with a Logitech combo keyboard for only $ 800 in total. This is the best deal instead of 800 $ for only the Base model M2 Ipad Pro 128GB without Combo Keyboard.
ОтветитьLove your silent unboxings.
ОтветитьCamera Face id most likely wasn’t moved to landscape position cuz of the magnets in place for the Apple pencil.
ОтветитьI’m a professional photographer, I use it much the same as you (games, movies, research etc) and while on holidays it’s awesome. But I also use it a lot for work, extended display from my MacBook Pro 14” (which is docked at my desk 95% of the time), I love Apple Pencil support because I can photoshop with it as well as using Lightroom for basic edits. Apple Files is also good as I store everything in the cloud and it means I can use the iPad anywhere and leave my laptop at home.
ОтветитьMed student here, honestly the iPad was a waste of money. It's nice to have on placement, but like you said the MacBook would have been better. Any lightweight laptop would have been better. It's great for media consumption, although when I ask myself if I would like to consume more content, the answer is no. It feels good to have, but I doesn't add any value academically.
Where the iPad is useful, is when I'm tutoring over teams or zoom. It is a pleasure to write on and much better than my surface book 1. If you're a student, realistically you don't need it. Save your money and invest it.
Just FYI, External display support is available in iPad OS 16.2 beta.
ОтветитьWhy? Just don't
ОтветитьI think they didn't put the camera in landscape mode,. because then, they would not be able to fit charging coils on the side of the ipad
ОтветитьThere’s no reason to buy any current gen iPad other than the mini 6 with the Apple refurbished store looking as good as it does
ОтветитьI’m a pilot, so iPad works best, covers every need !
ОтветитьSure, it’s not that intensive but I do need a Mac to do photo editing and video editing. The iPad CAN do it, but it’s not as feature rich. It’s meant for the users who doesn’t want complexity. The iPadOS 16 update at its current state is in a identify crisis. Stage Manager is the best new feature hands down, I didn’t know why the 2020 model didn’t initially got it but Apple knew that was BS it isn’t powerful enough—they wanted to let the 2020 (and 2018) users to upgrade to the M-series iPads. I need to dump Windows as soon as possible. I thought iPadOS 16 is buggy but Windows 11 is the worst OS I’ve ever used, and the bugs are still in a OS. I feel like getting a MacBook at this point to do all my serious work, but right now I’ll rock with the iPad and save all of my money to get a 14-inch MacBook Pro since I travel with my iPad. I hope I’m not making the wrong decision. I have used WD all of my life. I touched Macs in my life but not for more than five minutes. I use the iPad more than my PC, I want to sell it so bad and get a MacBook and use my iPad as a supplementary device to it tbh.
ОтветитьI'm working on app development and have an iPad Pro M1 for testing. What strikes me is how far the iPad is from a desktop experience, and how few truly useful (and optimized) iPad apps there are. Aside from apps that specifically benefit from the Apple Pencil, I can't think of a single workflow or app where I prefer the iPad. Stage Manager is a joke and doesn't come close to the experience on a desktop OS.
ОтветитьHow has the experience with Figma/Figjam been with the M2 iPad Pro? Curious to know if the purchase is worth it as a product designer
Ответитьjust sold my 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 on Monday...just got today the m2 MacBook Air...iPad with magic keyboard cost me about 1500€ back in 2020 and sold both plus the pencil, put a few hundreds € and got the air M2. iPad is nice but it can't replace a computer yet...maybe I'll get one of the smaller ones at some point for casual media consumption or ultralight travelling...
ОтветитьThe ipad pro sounds great and getting better features but i rather stick with my mini since im not really getting into creativity yet so i would rather get a macbook or the mac mini. Rather then the ipad pro but time will tell. Great review
ОтветитьThat hover feature with the apple pencil has been on windows 2-in-1s for years and I think Samsung tablets too. It's about time they added it on the iPad
ОтветитьAmazing hardware with a limited software, same old story.
ОтветитьStill rocking the 2018 11" and it is still going strong.
However, the lower RAM makes it starting to show its age. Stage manager with a bunch of apps open can make it chops from time to time. That said as mainly a media consumption/ secondary device for my mac it is still totally adequate.
I'll just wait for the folding/ oled ipad.
wonderful video. makes me really wonder how many years we'll be saying "damn the iPad is amazing but the software still holds it back" before apple makes some much needed changes
ОтветитьMy 2018 iPad Air is still undefeated but then again, the most I throw at it is 1080p. If I move up to 4K then I’ll get a new one. Regardless love your videos!
