Im restoring one of those right now. I always thought it was a Schrade, but it says Buck on the blade. I tried to sharpen it when I was a youngster on a bench grinder. I finally got is sharp after removing an inch or two from the blade length. Good ol 1084 steel to the rescue heat treated in my Paragon KM 36 kiln. Im 55 now so the knife is over 40 years old.
Forge On!!!

I have tremendous respect for this company. Unlike Vans shoes, Buck took a California institution and kept it in America. When I worked at AutoZone in Los Angeles, I used to use a 110 to pop open key remotes to change the batteries for customers. Worked great for that. Proud to carry a 110.

The thing about this knife, I'm always aware of the "last thing I cut with it". I use this knife constantly every day, for everything, so I may be cutting up an apple to eat with it when earlier in the day it was up in the guts of a fish or a deer. I'm not afraid to aggressively scrub it down frequently in hot soapy water. If you clean it, dry it, maybe a drop of oil in the hinge every once in a while, lightly hone it every few days rather than sharpen it on a stone, in other words, maintain it, it stays sharp and rust-free.

I learned about this knife as a kid. My Uncle carried it for 3 tours in Vietnam. He told Me he used it more than his Kabar. This knife is American and carried proudly by anyone who wants an incredible piece of history by their side. In any situation, be it work, defense or survival, a Buck 110 is all you need.

I've carried a 110 since 1986. My grandpa give it to me for my 10th birthday . I was so proud I couldn't stand it . Carried that knife thru the army and deployment to Bosnia and it stayed on my hip till 2000 when my wife bought me a new one for my first father's day . My dad gave me his 110 he carried in Vietnam I'm 1966 for the same fathers day as a pass down . My grandpa passed in 2004 and I got his one tgat he carried from the 70s till his death . My wife just ordered me my first custom 110 today . I'm wanna build a stand or something for them all but that wouldn't do em all justice . How do u display a lifetime of memories .. good and bad .. and the only 2 constants that I had to lean on that never required thought was my faith in the Lord and my 110 . They never let me down . One day .. all those will.pass to my son .. who by the way already has a good 110 collection going . But he will inherent the old ones too . And the legacy continues . Thanks buck for being constant and always there when u were needed .
