It's like, whatever we treasure in one generation gets revealed to be based on rape, pillage, and corruption 20 years later.
We keep condemning the last generation as we repeat the cycle over and over.

Shout out to RoosterTeeth for fixing Machinima's bullshit and giving all the content and IP's back to the creators that made them. They didnt do this for everybody but one that comes to mind is Battlefield Friends. a cartoon created by Hank and Jed Productions (Now defucted and moved to NeebsGaming). They stopped at season 6 and for a long 6 years they couldnt make anymore episodes because when Machinima tanked they didn't give back the rights to Neebs and crew. It wasnt until Roosterteeth bought the rights to Battlefield Friends and gave them back to NeebsGaming (now a sub-subdivision of RoosterTeeth)

its too bad RoosterTeeth is kinda becoming the a different kind of shithole all together though.

The only thing I personally looved machinima was the movies they would create. We weren't playing fps games back then me and my friend group, but would pour hours into sims and wow. We would also watch their movies and would be inspired for creating our own, using sims and wow models. That era was weird and magical simultaneously. It inspired me and my best friend to create channels and dive into "directing" and storytelling using the features games would offer. Machinima quality was exquisite but at the same time made it accesible, showing to younger creators such as us, that it was still possible to do!

Such a shame it ended up like that.
