2.5 years as an Expat in Thailand…I moved here at 41

What visa would enable me at 55 years old to live in Thailand, my girl and (she’s Thai) are going to build outside of chaiyaphum.

Hey Ben, I know exactly what you mean by working in the heat, been doing it myself in the garden here for 6 months, I've lost loads of weight too, I pushed myself through the hot season and glad I did now, hard though. One thing (and you will probably know this) makes sure you are replacing your salts with how much you are sweating, I started getting really bad cramp some days and obviously you don't want cramp while swimming in your pond. I take rehydrate powder supplements but also proper sea salt is good too. All the best 👍 Also with the stairs I think they have to start the measurement from the top, but don't worry about it, it looks great.

You have to let the stair thing go. It is a battle that cannot be won now and really is not worth it if it could. Most Thai pastries are the bomb!

+1 one on the staircase. Especially since all they had to do was add two cnt hairs to the run of each tread to make it work right.

Being away from Thailand for the moment you constantly satisfy what I am missing. Love those Thai doughnuts, love the house, love what you do to keep me from going crazy being away! Promise to see you when we go back.

Hello fella, you might want to think about wearing a proper sun hat in the scorching heat.. sunstroke is no joke... and as far as the shuttering on your staircase goes..bit late now but, in a couple of months you won't even notice it..get some plants in pots next to it and it's invisible..all the best.

I really like the railing. We had one put in and it’s shit. They welded it on site and didn’t bother to cover the tile floors so we have burn marks from welding. He didn’t understand why my head popped off my shoulders when I saw him burning my floor. House is looking great!

You are living in Thailand too long if you think that those pastries are donuts. We will bring you and your wife a proper donut (the fried cake made of dough in the form of a ring) if we ever get in the vicinity. The Thai call the filled balls you were eating kahnnom kai hija or kahnnom kai hong. They do taste very nice and aren't as sweet as most Thai pastries.

The heap of dirt looks the same as before. 30 minutes of jump rope a day will get you and keep you fit, no need for a gym.

Think you're being a bit OTT with the stairs, in one shot there's a set of stairs going off to the right. That's also set back from the edge of the pillar, if you took both first steps to the edge they would butt against each other and that would look really odd 😳
