I can't stress enough how much I HATE dealing with dealerships! They're soooo slimy with their hidden ways of gouging you.
They deserve to go under. I mean why can't they just say 'this is the full price, all-in; If you want extras here are the prices...all optional; The bank approved you for this rate, we don't add anything to that" - Just be HONEST!!
I think non-negotiable all-in pricing is the best way to go. Less stressful for ALL involved and I'd certainly go to dealerships more often

They're doing this for a reason - so they can make cars made to order and not have left over inventory. Pushing out cars only works if there are enough people to buy them.

it's better if Amazon enter inthe game , next should be Walmart , target and temu should be there so that the delearship fees can be reduced and customer would get benefited more.

They only thing I see as a issue purchasing a vehicle online is test driving it first and comparing the different models in person.

Another issue with dealerships is they usually get stacked near each other causing crazy crazy traffic near them. Especially during rush hour. A future with little to no dealerships clogging up the road would be sweet.

Dealers when they were doinig atrocious price gouging is why I think vehicle prices should be set by manufacturer not whatever Dan tells me that its worth 5k more than toyota themselves say..

👍🏻 some cheating greedy car dealers have robbed consumers in service and repairs. Such cheaters deserve loosing whole business. So I am sure in for online car buying. It will bring real price of car. Not some bs invoice price or mrsp or bla bla terms which some cheater dealers invented terms and robbed general buyers. Anyways EVs will require just sales. No more facing dealrships for axiety of , what would be my invoice this time for service😂😂😂😂. By the way, before buying a car, ask for live survelance camera feed from car repair or service's whole area. Not just 1 bs view. If dealrship provides then only give them business. What about different payment options. People get financing through their bank, local credit union, and even pay with cash. Funny enough on one of my chase credit cards i have a 45k limit. Can i pay with m card ?

Shopping for a Lightning, my brother found several good deals on AutoTrader. When he called to check on availability, 4 different dealers wouldn't honor the advertised price. One claimed it was a $10,000 misprint, another said it was fleets only. Each tried to get him to buy a gasoline F-150 instead. A system that isn't built on Bait and Switch would be very welcome. (He bought a Tacoma instead).

Only ignorant people will think trying to buy a car through Amazon will be a positive experience. It's not Amazon's fault it's going to be the car dealers fault that will try to take advantage of the customer that comes through amazon. Eventually the car dealership will ruin Amazon's great reputation. This has got to be the worst thing Amazon could ever do.

A long time ago I said something and some people laughed, one even making fun of the name (since at the beginning, that was up in the air): If you don't have their stock, you better buy some, if you do have their stock, you better buy more! It did not take that long, either. From 1997, their first split was in the second quarter of 1998.

And, for so long I have despised the ridiculous dealers, and sorry to say somewhat laughed at the buyers who fell/fall for that no hassle/fixed price nonsense. Yes, of course, have no negotiation for an overpriced vehicle, and also get stiffed on the trade in price, the latter pretty much being forever. Before too many dealers, new and used, did that, a person could learn about rebates/incentives, hold backs, auction prices, etc., and negotiate regarding the information learned, and get a much better price. Amazon is going to pull that nonsense, and it will still work!

HINT: If you want a newer vehicle and want to save money and make more in the future regarding selling it, actually sell it, and to begin with buy a demo! And, research resale values per vehicle/condition. Both are easy to learn about, also.

The factory would have to sell through Amazon to the consumer at manufacturer prices. No dealership mark ups.

Interesting show, but no conversation about the need of a consumer to actually kick the tires and sit in and drive a car before signing on to make a $40-50K purchase of anything

EVs wont take the place of Gas vehicles until they get the battery situation taken care of....... NO way I would buy one if it's more than the cost of the car to truly maintain it.

If new and used cars sold $2.5 to $3 trillion, and there were 15.6 million cars sold in 2023, then the price of the average car is $176,000. So clearly there are contradiction?

Amazon can't even offer 2 day prime shipping shorter than 5 days while you're paying for the service. I wouldn't trust them with a big purchase.

Reduce price, since the used and new car prices went nuts, I disposed of the idea of having to have a car. I am car free for two years, I made myself not rely on a car, I was successful, two years without a car payment or insurance.

Takes the annoying seller out of the equation. I’m in. Do good research and know your financial picture.

I’m in the market of buying a new car and dread going to the dealership, I hate all the sales talk . All the fees here and there discussion, back and forth. I can get easily get a loan at my credit union , Insurance from AAA. I would welcome something streamlined and less hassle and faster.

Amazon is getting in the home business too. They want it all.
