Phew! Finally a video covering all aspects. Thank you!
ОтветитьThanks so much for the video! We are traveling with our 4 kids and want to be as prepared as possible for the confusing train system!
ОтветитьGreat video, but please keep your feet / shoes on the floor. Not on the seats and not on the back of seats or where one is supposed to put food or drinks!!!!! Jeeeezzz.
ОтветитьVery helpfull video and I want tour of Europe by eurail train so plz send me some help of visa so I can do this
ОтветитьHi.. I have generated a journey ticket using my euro rail pass for my travel from Amsterdam central to Paris Nord station on 29th September, 2023.
I wanted to make a seat reservation for my journey. However, in euro rail pass bookings website, all seats have been sold out for 29th sep and i am unable to book a seat for my journey.
What other options do i have to make seat reservation ??.
Also as per my generated travel ticket, i wanted to travel in "THA 9328 Thalys TRAIN". If incase i am unable to make seat reservation in above train due to non availability of seats. Am i still eligible to travel in it (THA 9328 Thalys TRAIN) without any seat reservation?
Pls reply…
This is soooo helpful!!! Your videos are excellent
ОтветитьHi! If i did a 7 day pass, if I was to travel on day 1, do I need to use it within 7 days from the starting date? I plan on staying in certain places for a few days but unsure on how it works! I hope this makes sense! Or is there just 7 days throughout the month where I am able to use it.
ОтветитьHi Nina
Great video with lots of fantastic tips . We are a family travelling from Australia to Europe for 6 weeks using the Eurail pass so your video was perfect. One small question about luggage. We are planning on taking medium sized suitcases. Are there enough storage areas where the bags can be safely placed while travelling on the trains? Any suggestions?
Thanks for your time. Happy travels
Jamie
Thanks!
I also found it frustrating not to have good enough instructions and the app was often bad.
It did not find longer combined trips, so I either used google maps and/or the DB planner to find those and then add the single trips in the app.
When going outside the zone to Ukraine, I had to activate the ticket to the last stop before the border, as Interrail does not cover anything outside its countries.
One thing you can (and sometimes need to do) is to use the train company's site or app to book the reservation. Make sure you select the correct discount (Interrail/Eurail), as you will also be paying for the journey itself (which is covered by your pass!) otherwise.
And do not forget that many trains don't have any dining possibility, so make sure yiu are well stocked!
One thing to consider with these last minute plans - hotel fares will often be high and you might need to look for accomodation in the next town or just the general area where you can find good transit options (I stayed in Mulhouse instead of Colmar and Bern instead of Lauterbrunn).
it is a great video!! every question I had, you just have solved them! thanks!
ОтветитьDid the Eurail plus reservation fees end up cheaper than the point to point you calculated in your upfront comparison?
ОтветитьI still don’t understand. 🤯 I’m trying to plan a trip for 2024 and when I look at the map on eurails website it shows I can get from Munich to Prague. When I go to book a train on the app it says there are none available. How do you plan out a trip? We’re only going to be in Europe 2 weeks. Is it worth it? And if it’s not how do I find overnight trains to different destinations? Help!! 🤪
ОтветитьWow very in depth video
Ответитьamazing video, sooo helpfull thanks!!!
ОтветитьJust to let you know that when the train on the app turns out to be a bus it is a rail replacement bus due to construction works on the railway tracks.
If you look at the train number and it says BUS that's when the train has been replaced by a bus for that journey
Buying a pass today, we leave in 33 days.

do you have any recommend on sim card to cover europe?
ОтветитьCan you the pass and make the reservation even before you enter Europe ?
Ответитьomg what if they steal your phone???
ОтветитьWow thank you very much! Excellent information. I am planning a trip with my son and my question is if it is possible to get off at a certain station, and change direction, or get off at a certain station for the trip and get on the next train (for example: when traveling from Amsterdam to Paris, stop for two hours in Brussels, and again get on the train that arrives in Paris only by presenting the ticket).
ОтветитьAnd you think feet on seats is acceptable?
ОтветитьThis is the most comprehensive video about Eurail.
ОтветитьThis was incredibly helpful!! Thank you!
ОтветитьThanks, this is so helpful
ОтветитьThank you for the detailed video. I experienced the same thing when I bought the 2 months with 15 trips on Eurorail. Each time, I learned something new. Yes, the best thing to do is to make reservations at the train station instead of via your mobile ap as they have glitches & not user friendly.
Ответить1) The Eurail/Interrail Mobile ticket is trash! I had that problem of not being able to show the ticket, where the app has to be online. I had internet, but the Eurail server was down. And I had alot of fun trying to explain this to the conductor. So ditsh the app and get the hard copy / Eurail book.
2) The price is nothing special. I came out just about even. You could go cheaper with advance purchased excursion fares (German Rail has the "Super Sparpreis Europa".) If you miss the connection or if the booked train is more than 20 minutes late, the binding booked connection is not in effect any more, and you can take any train (German Rail DB: "Zugbindung aufgehoben".) Eurail is a good deal when you don't book in advance as a Flex(ible) ticket, which costs more than the APEX, or take the really expensive routes (like Eurostar.)
3) Reserve tickets at the trainstation or better yet on that country's rail homepage/app. It's way cheaper. And there's a chance of changing the reservation, too, especially if you miss a connction due to delay.
Thanks for the great tips! You mentioned that we can cancel a ticket we had booked on the app. How do we do this please? Do we slide the button against the trip back again? Also, do you know if we can we book a ticket on the eurail app a few months before, but then only pay the reservation fee at the train station, or do we lose our booking if we don’t pay the reservation fee in time?
ОтветитьYou do not put your foot on the food table. Do not you think people will eat at that table?
ОтветитьNice video thanks for the explanation. I may have missed it but did you eventually reveal the difference in price between traveling with and without the pass? Sounded like you logged what each trip would cost without the pass. Unless i misunderstood
ОтветитьThe bbest video ever seen!
Ответитьincredible video! please make the travel tip and money saving video for europe. it would be so helpful, thanks
ОтветитьThis was great to watch, thank you so much!
ОтветитьSo helpful! Thank you!
Ответитьgreat video!!
ОтветитьDo you think it's recommenced for traveler with kids ?
ОтветитьYouth Pass still valid when you're 27 and not yet 28? Is that right? Asking since she mentioned 26 and under. TIA
ОтветитьI didn't expect the video to be like that at all, I thought maybe a tour in the train and so on.. but the information and advices are gold. Thanks Nina and Jay you guys seems awesome and fun to travel with 🙌
ОтветитьDoes Eurail pass covers buses and trams in Italy ?
ОтветитьHello guys! nice video thank u,
i have a quetion about the single country passes is it helpful as that ones used for all euro arae? . thanks again
Fantastic. I was getting so frustrated with planning and you've really helped. ;)
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьGood overview. I always buy a local SIM card, which many Americans are reluctant to do. invaluable... and cheap! Google maps tracked train locations really well .. and often had the precise train information listed. Oh! Did you list the price comparison? Did I miss it? Thanks
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video. I have been doing research on Eurail for past 3-4 weeks. Your video is the most informative. I am so glad I came across it. Quick question: I heard snacks are included in the first class ticket. Is that true?
ОтветитьExcellent video. A quick question. If I am using the Eurorail App Planner, can I assume that a specific train route (ie Kaiserlauten to Munich ) that I am looking at is covered by the Euroraill Pass?
ОтветитьThanks a lot, super helpful. Eurail pass plus having to do reservations (if traveling during the summer) is almost the same as booking trains in advance? looks like
ОтветитьMy wife and I, many years ago, took advantage of the Boat portion of the Eurail pass. In Germany, we took the train to Koblenz and then boarded a river boat that accepted the Pass. It was basically a Hop on Hop Off boat on the Rhine. Great way to see the Castles.
