Keith David is such a fantastic actor. Despite how badass and tough the dude is and how much he protested at the beginning of the blood test, when it turns into just him and Garry you can see the panic take over him and he’s just a frightened, helpless average Joe begging to get free, no ego, machismo anything

holy shit this movie is horrifying. waaaaay scarier than any modern horror. the whole movie is like a nightmare.

Windows should have been more careful drawing blood from everyone.
Considering that he most likely touched blood of everyone and drew on his own blood last.

Windows totally touched Nauls' blood when he gave him the piece of cotton to stop his hand's bleeding.

Science Fiction Horror has yet to top this 1982 film.

Childs is so funny here. He says the test is a crock of shit when it proves that MacReady is human but when it proves that Clark is a human, then he accuses Mac of being a murderer.. He is the master of giving shit in this scene

I love how after all that they just go right back to testing the blood

Thank God it wasn't Palmer instead of Windows who was left untied.
After Mac got startled and dropped his flamethrower, Palmer would've taken him, and no one would've been able to help, due to being tied up.

Back in the good old days of good ol fashioned movie making... no cgi crap and actors reacting to imaginary figments.
Just practical effects and creative implementation.

Definitely top 10 best horror movies ever... I swear the 70s-80s were some of the best for the horror genre... Fuckin Hooper, Carpenter, Craven and Ridley Scott with the Alien series all putting out movies around the same time... Fuckin awesome not to mention all phenomenal movies that weren't horror that came out during that time period... Brian Depalma and Scorsese to name a few...

If you read the "The Things", which tells the story from the Thing's perspective, it shows that Copper and Childs were infected at this time but weren't infected long enough for their blood to react noticeably.

Two facial expressions before McCready fires the hot wire, one is Windows...but do you see Palmer, his eyebrows a strange expression (obvs in 5 minutes he emotes a "Games up' expression) brilliant acting

Watched Zach cherry podcast the cherry picker about the Thing and he mentioned how he feels sorry for Windows because Macready viewed him as the least possible crew member that would challenge him and could easily over power him if windows turned out to be a Thing

The reason why Windows lets out a sigh of relief is because the aliens imitation is so good that even you don't know that you're infected.

One thing Ive notice is that not everyone in this movie, believed about the blood test to expose who the creature was, Childs was one that disagreed with Macs blood test at first, but when he saw how effective it was after exposing Palmer as the monster he immediately lets Mac to test his blood, this movie is awesome.

Oh well Larry got a face plant there in the end'/!!! I love how each guy that tested negative was all too quick to grab a flamethrower to assist in the testing'/!!!

If it wasn’t for Palmer thing turning right in front of them Childs and Garry wouldn’t have believed Macready

This scene makes the alien even scarier because Palmer thing just waits until windows has the only working flamethrower since he notices Macready’s flamethrower is not working properly before attacking and assimilating Windows once he gets the working flamethrower
