For those interested. There is actually a pseudo counterpart to the Hind in NATO’s arsenal in the form of the Black Hawk DAP. It’s basically a Black Hawk with reinforced stub wings that carries a 30mm autocannon, a .50 cal rotary gun, and a Hydra pod. And a single 7.62 minigun on each rear door

The limited cockpit visibility that is present in a lot of soviet era aircraft like the mog 21 would scare the hell out of me. Im not an expert nor pilot and am in no way saying that this is a design failure or anything like that just an exhibitionist and it is just something ive noticed while watching diff cockpit video tours...

I am to understand that therotor blades were built w a projected life of 100 hrs?? That meant that w out the replacement blades, that were lackung, the Sov pilots could do very little flight training. Life cycle on US rotor blades is ten times that??
