You bought it! :D It is a good one :) I was wondering if you ended up purchasing this since I know you liked the deck when I first showed it last year :D I am glad you did, because I personally think it is not only beautiful but a very practical deck that has been well produced. The book is rather well done too. In fact, it would make the list of one of my favourite tarot handbooks for the year.

Hey Kelly! I was glad to see you walk through this deck...I purchased it a year ago just for the "cool historical" look of it and planned on using it, but it's HUGE! lol Still love it even if I can't shuffle it :-) I've been out of the loop for awhile but hope to catch you live soon!! :-) :-)

A few years ago Lo Scarabeo published a series of historical decks here in Italy that you could buy at newsstands that also featured the Visconti-Sforza tarots. They have a golden sort of "frame" and the gold, both on the edge and in the cards, is actually shiny. They are quite beautiful but sadly they only made the major arcana for some reason.

Great walk through Kelly! Mine arrived today, so I opened them whilst watching this and went through my book and deck with you! One point I noticed, I think the reason the King of Swords looks so young is because he is also the Knave.

I loved this walk through. After watching it , I knew I wanted them. I did a gold metallic on the sides and it just really matched up to the back perfectly. The cards are large , so I guess over hand shuffle for them. Really love them though.

Thank you for this great review, Kelly! To be honest I did own a Lo Scarabeo Visconti Sforza deck (regular tarot deck size) and I gave it away some two years ago, because I didn't connect with it at all. And now I have just ordered this edition! :D I think that these gorgeous, hand painted pictures look much better when they are not squeezed into regular deck size and also when the restoration has been done. I know that many people like the "patine" and old looking decks, but when I read, I need clarity and I've realized I actually love restored decks :) I really like the works by Flornoy (Noblet and Dodal decks), I love Jodorowsky-Camoin TdM and now I've just got the Edtion Millennium TdM by Wilfried Houdouin. They are not the original, historical lines drawn/cut by people from the past, but they give us a chance of seeing the images in their original glory, when they were young and fresh :)
So yeah, I can't wait to get my deck! And I jotted down your spread to try out for myself :))

Love,
Magdalena

These artists never lived to see what impact their small project for this noble family would have had all over the world. Just shows how we never know our true impact on the world, even if what we’re doing seems small.

I'm glad I found this walk-through on your channel. I've been considering this deck and the CBD TdM. Have you done, or do you still conduct, any readings with this deck--or does it remain primarily an item of historic relevance for you?

The gold on the cards probably looks really stunning against the purple cloth.

I have the pierpont Morgan deck. Just got it. It gives me thrills. Lol. Its HUGE. Which I love but I'm thinking of looking for a smaller one because I'm almost afraid to touch my amazing gigantic deck. I have yet to shuffle. Also they are soooooo slippery.

(I did an unboxing video with my four year old who said the cards are as big as he is lol)

thank you so much for the review! i saw those in a bookshop completely randomly, and sat there for like half an hour reading/watching reviews and trying to figure out if i should buy it. i did <3 though i don't have a secondary box for the cards, or the cloth satchel the bigger box said should be inside...huh. and it's also a bit funny, i already had another tarot deck, the shadowscapes, and i was always very clumsy with the cards because of how big they are. and now this...lol. though i just looked at them for the first time and i already love some cards alot. they really have a vibe around them.

Which way is reverse for the wands cards as they are all the same? Upright or reversed. Same with some of the coins
