Very clear explaination Tom. Thanks 👍
ОтветитьFantastic video, thank you!
ОтветитьSkiing is my passion. This was a great video, I have learned a lot! Where is this slop
ОтветитьI kept watching this video over and over again. just found my one of problems. The tip 2 helps me the most. Heaps thanks ❤!
ОтветитьWhen you say sitting back do you have your weight at the beginning of the turn slightly forward and in the second half you return it back to the centre or do you actually put the weight in your heels as opposed to your foot as a whole
Ответитьnice video, but sadly not what i'm looking for. once you get past a certain steepness, i have heard that the technique changes slightly - specifically above 45 degree runs. is this true or am i full of crap?
ОтветитьOn steeper terrain physics get weird as inertial frames of reference and rectilinear motion increases the free falling sensations causing wanking, ill formed turn shapes. Anxious skiers rush everything except the vital stance required to maintain control in such highly time dilated maneuvers.
ОтветитьGreat thanks, exactly the tips I needed. Shame it was my last day of the season!
ОтветитьWhat skiis are you using.? I have a 170cm Salomon QST. I would like to change to a 160cm ski. What 160cm ski would you recommend for an upper mediate skier. Also what boots would you recommend. I currently have 10 year old boots. My boots are Lange 65 with form fitted insoles that are ten years old. Let me know, my skiing has degraded since I am 68 year's old. Thanks
ОтветитьAwesome, thanks mate.
ОтветитьThanks a lot! I am now a bit more confident skiing on very steep slope 🙂
ОтветитьThis is the best ski instruction I’ve ever received. Was able to try this out on the slopes yesterday, and it completely leveled up my skiing. This is what I was missing for years
ОтветитьI want to learn, but this is confusing to me lol
ОтветитьWhen i push my skis forward at the end i balance my center of gravity or balance by using my shoulder . I push them a small bit forward .
ОтветитьGreat video and the editing was fantastic with the overlay. It was very educational.
ОтветитьThis is excellent video. I have this mistake for many years. Thank😊😊😊
ОтветитьHave to try this out to see wehther I can find that 'pop' moment at the end of the turn were you shift the skis backwards/move your body forwards again. This I found hard to see in the video.
ОтветитьNow I finally understand what the fore/aft movement is about. Great video! Not yet in my fiftieth season, but hope to get there!
Ответитьwow~! the elegant and beautiful skiing~~기억할게요. 감사해요.
Ответить👍
ОтветитьNothing but a black screen
ОтветитьLevel four API ?
I’m having a hard time understanding
Isn't it push the feet forward as opposed to pulling them forward?
ОтветитьTruly nice metrics for analysing the pressure too. Aspen Colorado slopes look great too!
ОтветитьYes, sir. Useful tips👍, a compact presentation. ⛷️. Thank U!
ОтветитьThanks for this! I think one issue is that the idea of adding downward force to the tail of the skis as you transition to the exit is counter-intuitive to most people. BUT we know via physics, that increased pressure will cause more grip (if the ski is appropriately using the edge). It's the same issue with why drivers spin a car in the rain when in a turn and experiencing an issue: the human tendency is to lift off the accelerator or apply brake. This decelerates the car putting more force on the front tires and causing them to grip more, while the rear tires have less downforce and therefore grip less. Then the tail of the car starts to lose grip and the car initiates a spin. Will try adding force to the rear via pulling up next time I'm out there. Great lesson. Thank you.
Ответить👍👍👍never saw that foot movement in relation to upper body before, it makes lots of sense, it will be the first thing to practice on my next ski trip, for sure, thanks.
ОтветитьThis is flipping brilliant! This committed professional has found a creative tool/exercise/theme to make a nuanced and challenging physiological skiing concept understandable, Translated: Thank you sir, for your ski spirit. I have learned valuable things from your generosity. For those who are truly devoted to authentic competence at this sport, this is a must watch. IMHO, Multiple times...
ОтветитьThank you so so much!! This video was really helpful!
Ответить“Balance” is a term that applies to static systems. As a skier we are a dynamic system so the term “balance” is totally inappropriate when trying to describe what’s really going on in skiing. And the term “dynamic balance” comes from body mechanics and is incorrect as it doesn’t occur in a single physics manual on the planet.
ОтветитьGood tips for whirly bird…
Ответитьcameraman is the capeless hero during whole class!! :))
Ответитьthanks a lot for this video. finally, i get what to do in order for the skiing to flow.. i recognized that all the common mistakes you mentioned, i kindof did
ОтветитьLifelong east coast skier and first time instructor this year - this video was great! Thanks so much!
ОтветитьAmazing video! Watched it twice - will be practicing tomorrow 😀
ОтветитьI just watched your video on skiing steeper slopes and I'm blown away by how helpful it was! Your tips on maintaining better balance were spot on and will definitely help me feel more confident on the mountain. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us!
ОтветитьHi Tom, That makes a lot of sense, but without video footage how would I know if my fore/aft balance is correct at the start & finish of the turn??
ОтветитьI'm a double diamond skier that always wants to improve. I find that while I ski with ease, I'm nowhere near perfect and this video was a fantastic guide to improving it. Will look into purchasing Carv.
ОтветитьVery good explanation. So many instructional videos tell you to stay centered over your skis, which of course does not work on a steep downhill. This video is one of the few that is honest about your body position because although these other instructors say stay centered over your skis when you see them going down steep slopes, you can see their weight move back onto their tails!
ОтветитьGood coach. Thanks.
ОтветитьThank you for your time & dedication!! Watching you ski is so satisfying!!
You have an awesome way of making those of us who want to ski better relate to see the picture!! Like a great story teller help people to relate & understand!!

ОтветитьI do this just naturally. But once you see it pointed out you can mentally make sure I’m doing it all the time.
