Excellent movie. I live a mile from the battle location in Hampton, VA, in a development called Merrimac Shores. Of course, the Confederates changed the name of the ship to CSS Virginia. All the streets in the neighborhood are named after aspects in the movie: Buchannan, Porter, Ericcson, Congress, Cumberland, Chesapeake, and Catesby Jones. The Monitor sunk during a hurricane off NC in 1863. The Monitor's restored gun turret is on display at the Mariners' Museum in Newport News.

What a terrific cast ! Even Russell Hicks gets in the act ! Alot of critics say Mae Clarke was a Top 10 talent.

What a wonderful movie! The horror of friends forced to fight each other made the Civil War the saddest chapter in our nation's history. Putin should be forced to watch this movie, although I doubt if he would understand the message.

IMDb shows this movie to be 1 hour and 12 minutes. So at less than 53 minutes quite a bit has been lost. Hopefully an intact original is available to one day be restored. Thanks for the opportunity to see this film.

The American first civil war was not a war of independence
Per capita: More Americans killed each other than in any other war.
It was a w ar of hate: brother against brothers fathers against sons..
It was the bloodiest American wat ever fought and the most evil.

It's 2020 and their isn't much better hat the government has learned from the war. The Civil War was faught really for nothing. Both sides believing they values would win out. American fighting against American. The Confederates list. And how they believed in the wrong things. Look what has happened to this world because the Confederates didn't want to do that he right thing. At this the right time they thought it was for the right things. We are in for another Civil War soon. If things do not change for our beautiful America. I pray that everything will be straightened out for all of us. No matter what our skin color is
