And about Japan. Why don’t you tell your public how many abandoned homes are in Japan. 😂. 🤦‍♂️ because theirs no one to buy them.

I've been saying this for a while. The combination of screaming retirement deals the boomers inked and living longer has reduced the $$$ flow into the next generation. The living longer typically means more dr bills plus they're getting treatments no other generation has benifited from at a cost that eats up the wealth typically passed on.

Young Gen X are poor also. Every time we get pay raises and get more secure in our careers, the house prices go up. We can't catch up. My boomer parents are poor, one will never afford a home whole the other married someone from the Greatest Generation and they own a home.

Thats not what is making our people more poor. What is making everyone more poor is the government printing more and more money into the system. The more printing makes each dollar less valuble. The more they print, the more prices for everything rises. And anyone blaming the boomers are probably listening to government propaganda.

The second half of the 20th century was relatively peaceful (especially in Europe) because of USSR. After USSR was destroyed it all started to go wrong. Capitalism can just kill people and make rich ones even richer. WWIII is impossible ? I doubt it.

While the breakdown over selfish policies as they age, the sheer advantages both in terms of the dollar and what the baby boomers could afford were well-documented, the end note was flat. Generational wealth transfer is no different from Reaganomics in that transfers of wealth from the have to trickle down to the have nots won't matter if the receiving generation is old too. Ironically, the Baby Boomers not dying is itself a central issue.

This entire thing also neatly highlights a central issue with raw democracy: the majority and major demography votes its own interest at the expense of the minorities; see: Washington, where one county, King County, runs the politics of the entire state. Millennials and Zoomers will never have the same clout and will have to clean up what is leftover. No wonder the kids are 'worthless'; they don't have a lot to work hard for.

The baby boomers blamed the government for their problems. Generation X blamed the banks for their problems. And most of the millennials (and younger ) on this page blame their PARENTS.... Wow !!! You do understand that the main reason for increasing house prices is due to the extremely low interest rates since the year 2000 and particularly since the financial crisis? Nobody gets to vote on interest rates, right? So, who is to blame? My parents??? It is just embarrassing to read many of the comments here.

Do you yourself a favour, don´t blame your parents. It is the most pathetic reaction to have. Don´t forget, your destiny as a parent is to be criticised by your kids too. Really the saddest of all responses. Try blaming government policy over decades, much healthier!! Also, trying reading the short poem by Philip Larkin, "This Be the Verse".. He even predates your hated mom and dad hate figures :) Everything repeats with a few small details changed. In the meantime don´t blame your parents for the state of the economy, it is just ridiculous...

No more property tax either. We don't need welfare and I'm setting up my life to live without Social Security because I know for fact I wont get any.

People who tell you otherwise by saying oh just raise taxes, well look how that has been going...

More taxes to government equals more corruption and stealing from agencies supposed to support the people.

I encourage everyone to look around you. Did your taxes fix that pothole that has been there for weeks/months/years? Is your life substantially better now and you are more wealthy by keeping more of your income? Is the energy grid updated and infrastructure in good shape and the military the most efficient with what they currently get including their "inflation increases" ?

Most will say no. We don't continue to fund corruption all in hopes that it will eventually take care of you when you no longer pay it money.

The worst thing boomers did, Imo, is tell us all our values and traditions were trash. Thus all we have in our culture now IS trash. Now we are told we are trash but some other people are really important, so they get to jet set around while average people can hardly squeak by. And now they keep saying they are saving the planet. What utter nonsense.

I think what is commonly missed (in including in the comments here) is that the problem of demographics does not require self-interest.

Consider if every person instead voted for policies that helped their neighbor. You'd still get the same result. Most neighbors would be Baby Boomers. Imagine lining up the entire population. Have everybody vote their own preference. Now repeat, except have everybody hand their preferred vote to the person to their right. Now everybody is voting in the interest of the person to their left. But the result is identical. Same number of votes for the same people, parties, and policies.

It's a statistical problem, not a selfishness problem.

We don’t blame Boomers. We blame politicians who run our economy by uncontrolled spending. Trillions for Ukraine when only billions are required. Politicians over spend so they get kickbacks. The greedy and clueless useful idiots called politicians are the ones who stole our money, not the Boomers. The Boomers created more wealth

The root of the problem is broken money. America is capitalist in name but socialist in practice because central banking is the tool used to inflation tax and steal from the working class in order to give it to the friend of a politician. Once math ends central banking the problem is solved. Math has an undefeated record.

It's all "boomers, boomers, boomers". It would be much more productive to say, "Democrats and Republicans". They're doing themselves more harm than good by trying to polarize the generations in our country. A lot of "boomers" who normally would be sympathetic might react against that. It's not like they have clubs for boomers who sit up late at night planning ways to plunder the economy. Saying things like "boomers stole our prosperity" makes it sound like we deliberately planned to stick the younger generations with a bad economy.
