Sydney opened up her season with 52.70 and she was holding back because she was instructed to do so. All that after 2 years of not competing in the event is crazy. Femke did great here but she has a long way to go.

Bol is on pace to be about the same as she was last year. Sydney has moved to another time zone. Just think about it. Sydney has run about 5 or 6 races in the last two years, all of them not her main event. She nearly set a 400 flat American Record in her SECOND RACE, then this year she's run the 200 and 4x1, and smoked a group of Olympic and World's medalists, along with the NCAA record holder and other 200 specialists, at 22.07, and was DISAPPOINTED that she didn't go sub 22. Then in her first 400 hurdles in 2 years she runs the World Lead. Meanwhile Bol has been running 400s, flat and hurdles CONSTANTLY. She's run more indoors than Sydney has run in the last two years. And after all that she opens with basically the same time as last year? Sydney will smoke Bol by 2 seconds and run sub 50. This is a competition between Sydney and The Clock.

A fraction under a second behind Sydney. I Think Sydney will get gold and Femke silver, but this is what I, we, feel, as anything can happen.
I mean, even someone else no one may be thinking of can pull it off.

Femke Bols running is so smooth. You can easily tell when she decides to accelerate and jogged the entire first 300m. And then coasted once she passed the 2 in front of her.

I think Bol's time is .37 seconds behind Sydney this week, in her first time in the event this season, so we are in for a spectacular 400 hurdles in Paris. It's shaping up to be the premier event at the Olympics

Femke should get a Sliver this year, BUT if Sidney makes a mistake, Femke can upset her! Honestly Sidney can also be the fastest 200M runner too this year if she wanted to be!!! Saying all that Femke is fast enough to capitalize on a mistake and that alone can get into her head!!! good luck can't wait for the final!

Not bad. Sydney was faster with zero competition and practicing 15 steps, rather than her normal 14 between hurdles. Early advantage is to the record holder.

Femke was strolling the first 200 and did enough to win, seemingly effortlessly...Sydney is truly amazing, but saying Bol has a lot to learn shows a degree of ignorance which is hard to understand... She is the World record holder at 300m and 400m indoors at 49.17 and was unbeaten all last year and this in the hurdles... But Sydney may have the advantage as she is exceptional, both mentally and physically... Paris is going to be special!
