A very heavy left hand in places it doesn't belong.

Nicely played , but not my favorite sonata as it is a bit lightweight and bordering on the whimsical.

The hands of this man are out of this world, both in appereance and capabilities. Truly a master.

Glenn Gould said he was hypnotised by this piece, played by Richter. Schubert had been underrated, he is as good as Brahms. IMHO

What a beauty but he died ruined of personal catastrophy with lifeillusions+ syfilis as we Daily artists risk to come into. According legend he looked at The Lady how took him to death

I've been listening to different versions of this magnificent sonata. Andras Schiff's rendering brings out the emotions and grandeur of the piece beyond any other I have heard.

Every voice has a voice, and the right attitude can show Schubert's highly contrapuntal textures for what they are. Schiff shows them fearlessly. And it dances like no performance I've ever heard.

Is that his own piano?
I think I've seen him perform on that in person.
Switzerland,I think(?).
I wish I had his control of voicing, that's for sure.

A Schubert masterpiece, this D 960, with nice melodies and impulses that comes like from an eternal well , yet with a deep understanding of the tragic aspects of life. As a joyful event with some sorrow in it. And nice to hear this played so well on a Bösendorfer. Thank you sir András.

Is this played on sir András Schiffs own Bösendorfer? I think it is. Great interpretation.

The attention to details such as the intentional and barely sounded notes under the held B flat in bar 4 of the opening movement show a care that a lot of pianists don’t show.

I love Schiff even more for his Schubert than for his Beethoven interpretations.

Let’s no talk about the interpretation, the music is well above what we can say. Let’s respect the young composer, and let’s realize that he didn’t write this jewel to be a discussion about what the best playing would be.

A very knowing interpretation. I suspect Schubert himself would be pleased by it.

Un Schubert auténtico: inicialmente retrospectivo y luego jubiloso. Una belleza. Y Brendel.... impecable, sensitivo.

Immense, immense...
