LEICA M10 - 5 reasons why I like it even in 2022 and you might too

Why do you have that noise in the background that makes it more difficult to hear and understand what you are saying. I wanted to hear what you had to say as I am also interested in the M10

I think the M10 is a gem and I have the M11, but love my M10 so so so much more.

Like you, I wanted a digital rangefinder that had the looks, feel, and handling of my Leica M6. When Leica produced the M10, I bought one. Regretfully, it was defective. I returned it to Leica for a full refund.

A year later, I bought another M10. This one had a defective sensor. Since it was out of warrantee, it was going to cost me a small fortune to have it repaired.


I have been very displeased with my Leica M10 digitals.

If I was buying I would choose the m10p over the m11 ….still a few about brand new seals ….still I’m happy with my film mp and r7 ….

Picked up an M10-P to compliment my Black Paint film MP. I can shoot my 28mm 2.8 Elmarit at night now. Great camera. I've owned the Q and Q2 with their 1.7 Lux lenses. Was surprised at the M10's high ISO lack of noise. But, I can also create pleasing grain when I want. Very happy. And the prices have come down since the release of the M11. Win-win.

I love my 10 year old Fujifilm XE1. To this day it's the closest I've come to analogue photographs when I print. Especially when I use vintage lenses on it and print black and white. I bought it used for 100usd. Prints great up to A1

I am still using m246 & don't see a reason to update ))

I have the original Q and is thinking about getting a M6 for film photography. Although I definitely prefer the colors from film, I want to get the M10 for ease of digital cameras. Would you recommend M6 or M10 as my first M?

I just bought a m10 chrome version few weeks ago, this is so pleasing to use. Although the battery life is a bit concern, the quality is still stunning. I came from apps and this is the first time I can finally utilise my lens in every inch!

now that the m11 is out would you still recommend the m10? is the m10 better in low light ?

hi folks. i’m considering to buy m10 and i want to know how live view, play and menu buttons are working. am i right that each of this buttons disables screen completely, when pressed in a mode this buttons are corresponding to? let’s say camera in a live view mode, so pressing live view button will disable the screen, right?

Do u think m10 is just enough? Or I should go for m10-r? Tho price is a concern, but would it be a better option in terms of “investment value” ?

I am a Fuji guy but I have access to an M8 and summicron 35 + summilux 50 : very enjoyable with all the manual operations, make me think we are getting lazy with all those automatic modern features (btw I am 56 and remember my FM2 and my darkroom..). As for your M10, I agree it's the one to get right now (M11 does not excite me).I think the M10 is gonna be a classic one in the lineup although I have never tried it. bye!

I also have a Q2 and M10 (and an M5) and agree with everything you said. The M10 feels so much like a digital film camera. I love it. And yes to 🇺🇦 as well. ✌🏻

M10 is the sweet spot in my opinion. I think in the future the 10 will be the definitive model amongst the digital Leica M series as well as the M10P. Of course.
