the cruise control issue is a safety from mazda, check it, you're only allowed to go +7 km/h. If you press more to get +10, you'll have to wait untill you drive those 3 km faster, then you can add more. My 6 does the same.

Plenty of stories of chocolate gearboxes, much truth in them I wonder? considering that 6 spd Mazda box is normally a highlight.

I love the Miata but one thing is like scratching on a chalkboard. I wish Mazda would delete the cheap looking and feeling infotainment screen. In its place, simply use an adjustable mount or in-dash cubby with usb-c connector for smart phones. Keep the interior clean.

why would you press the plus on cruise control to increase to the new speed, just press the res button and it sets it to the current speed max.. and your always meant to check oil when cold, if you do it when its warm it will be all around the engine and not a true reading. ignore the manual i think

It's nuts that the mx5 gets better mileage on the track than my ford explorer in a small town.

I sold my MX5 as people kept driving into my rear end. The first time was in the first few months when I was stationary at some traffic lights and a lorry hit me. The other at a roundabout 😳 I got a bigger car to feel safer😢 but a lovely car

Great review, I enjoyed watching this. I was hoping it might warm me to the Mk4 but alas, no.
I'm on my 6th MX5 but my current one is my last unless they change the looks of the ND. I have a Mk3.75 25th Anniversary model and, since lowering it and getting Wheels in Motion to weave their magic wand on the setup, is the best handling car I've ever owned. I've also added the electronic override to the electric roof so it works when you're moving.
Mazda invited me to the launch of the Mk4 (ND) thinking that I'd buy one but no. It may be a little lighter and come with a few desirable touches (keyless for a start) but the looks are not for me. In my view the new MG Cyberster has jumped in with a look that Mazda should have captured. Having said that, the MG is electric, sacrilege!

I want to own a Mazda Mx5 too. What I want to ask is this: Have you thought about getting the RF version? Would you still buy the soft top version if you were now?

Did you find the specific cause for the rattle? I have the same rattle in mine..

All joke aside I really want one of these. The idea of a two door sports car that's affordable is so damn cool. Plus to me it's the best looking generation of the Miata. Ever since it was announced I've always love these cars. One day when It makes financial sense for me I'm going to get my hands on one. It will be a weekend car. I'm trying to decide if whenever I get one should it straight up replace my 05 Mazda 3 or should I keep the Mazda 3. Cause there is another vehicle I plan on soon acquiring that will be my daily. It's a bit unorthodox for someone my age and some will say it's lame but it'll make a fantastic daily.
