Hi. Thank you for a very good explanation. I'm not a native english speaker, but I understand you well.

I've been thinking up some custom electronics but am new to assembling physical circuits. So I've seen a lot of videos lately and still have the very basics down from back when I was in high school.

Something I'm trying to wrap my mind around is how to supply different voltages to items in one circuit. Would it be better to cascade buck converters from, say, 24VDC to 3.3V for microcontroller, 5V for component A and B, and then to 12V for component C and D? Or, would it be more ideal to use a buck-boost converter with a range that covers all these voltages? How would that circuit look?

My project ideas typically entail a microcontroller, a TFT or HDMI screen, sometimes illuminated buttons, LED lights of various voltages, etc.

I guess another question would be, would I group components with same voltage and power them on a rail following the conversion to each voltage?

Hope you are still monitoring this channel. I tried to buy S9V11F5 Buck Boosters at Amazon and they don't seem to have anything listed with that number. Can you tell me the Amazon US listing for this Buck Booster? Have they changed the part number, or maybe there is a new and improved version with a different number? Either way, I sure can use your help finding this item from Amazon.
Thank you so much.
Tony

Not much to say but wow, I've been sweating so much how to power these little esp8266 projects I'm wanting to get up too and and could not find anything that broke it down this simply. Think I'm gonna use a usb breakout board and connect it to LD1117V33 linear voltage regulator and then to my esp8266. You really helped helped me understand my options here much much better.

How do we find out about the power needed to keep these devices attached to a battery while the target device is off? If I use a Buck Converter to drop the voltage of a 2s LiPo to 6v in my RC Transmitter will the Buck Converter continue to draw down the LiPo while the Transmitter is off?

Im sorry If Im litel bit confused does those linear voltage regulators work ither way by applying dc or dc pulse to their input? and is the actual out come dc pulse? I ask that because early ignition coils used dc and dc pulse to trigger them with points and condenser but currently my ignition coil is pulsed dc controled hei wia relay so Im actualy curriuse wuld that thing work on my hei coil?
And also was wondering is there some methodes or components that can by buyed to control alternator voltage regulator? those linear voltage regulator seams like usefull tools but I mean can they by placed multipel of them to create cinde of series parrarel configuration in some of your videos I see some ic chip with multipel pin lay out you told those were integrated resistors in them so that made my wonder if its posibel some how to trick those integrated alternator voltage regulators and manuali force them to operate at centrain range and load by basicali creating virtual ground or positive signal Im not shure tought what my alternator is useing suposedly its A type alternator just some how that crossed my minde .
I realy wish you wuld make video about alternators and cloosed loop manual operated voltage regulators there are not many videos about such systems .
Like always cool videos .

Hi, i have a solar panel that provides 5V with 30mA and i need tu run an Arduino nano with sound module that consumes 80mA at 5V. What can i use to make it work? Can i use a Boost Converter to go for 7V on the Arduino VIN and would it also raise the Amperes for my needed 80-100 mA?
What capacitor should i use between Solar panel and booster?
Thans, Andi

I would have preferred if you had discussed the various units operating frequencies where relevant, as I use a few frequency dependent loads. ie.. peltier devices and such like. Cheers and will subscribe on submitting this.

I have 14.4 V flashlight that was designed for discontibnued Nicad batteries. I have 18.0V Lithium batteries. But 18.0v burns out 14.4 volt bulbs very quickly. The buck boost converter would seem to be the answer but I need 3.0A Amps. Can they be used in Parallel ?
Or do you have a better solution ?

You CAN use your usb on your computer as a power supply. However when a device fails and shorts your usb port the next step is to buy a new computer. Use a power supply.
