being old school, I don't care for red dots lasers or even scopes in most situations. Scopes are only for longer distances in my world. Frankly, I've out shot guys with 308's and 30 O6's with my 30 30 with iron sighs, their scopes actually hindered them instead of helped. Most scopes tend to cut off too much of what's around the target. if the target is moving, they extremely hinder MOST scope users, I would think that not the case with you, but most don'r really get shooting with a scope with both eyes open.

I can't afford a good scope as I'm just getting started

This is interesting. I've never had binocular vision, so I don't think I could do this.

I'm left eye dominant. However, I'm generally right-handed. Yet, I'm an oddity in that I can write with either hand, I generally shoot off my left. But I can shoot rifles (all sight configurations), shotguns and handguns just as well with either hand with the same speed and efficiency.

Can you do this with First Focal Plane Scope, I'm asking cause since the Reticle is placed on the other side of the erector tube, so it may will not be able to project collimated light through the Zoom & Ocular Lenses to the eye, or may be acquiring the Reticle from the scope may need you to be in the narrow cone of view to get the Reticle, so that the other eye can place it into the pheriperal vision..

I don't know if it's because of the prism optic I have (a Bushnell), but whenever I tried this (4x), I found almost a 4" shift on the right between the point of aim using the BAC, and the actual point of aim looking through the sight, at 10yds, and it increased by the distance. Granted, the eye relief is pretty short so it sits pretty close to my eyes, and this could create a parallax issue
Real shame, I'd love to use my magnified scope to work as an impromptu OEG for close targets.....
