Things like this cements my belief that a lot of my fellow Filipinos badly need critical thinking and media literacy. A lot of Filipinos are embarrassingly gullible. I tried to educate on social media but ended up getting hate comments.

I just saw a fake news saying "BAGYONG BUTCHOY PATULOY PA RIN MAGPAPAULAN SA BANSA" (Typhoon Butchoy to cause rain in the country) even if Butchoy has not yet formed yet, it has 86k views, and the channel is from "Weather Update Ng Bansa"

That's just normal Filipino BS. They love to gossip and make up nonsense.

Yeah Yolanda was a bad one and I was there BUT I left for Hong Kong that time and came back to Manila a week later. Tocloban city was destroyed 😞
