What answer to the Fermi paradox do you think is correct? Is there extraterrestrial life out there, and if so, why haven't we detected it yet?

If you look inside those mirrors the tint is actually green. So in a way a mirror's reflection is green.

I think one thing the Fermi paradox misses is the change in human behavior as conditions improve. Specifically the phenomenon we are currently experiencing where, in highly developed countries, birth rates appear to fall below the population maintenance level of 2.1 children per female. It may be that as technology improves, and having to work to survive is no longer required, that the birthrate might increase in the future. But until that happens there appears to be a degree of quality of life that limits population growth due to conditions being too good, but not good enough. Unless conditions improve even further, and concerns about affording more children (among other things) are overcome, it's unlikely to rise above the maintenance level again.

Without continuous population growth there will not be enough intelligent life to colonize the galaxy. Perhaps that's the answer. Unless life can get so easy as to eliminate all struggles there might be a point where intelligent life stops their own population growth organically.

If you could travel at the speed of light would looking for other civilizations really be the first thing youd do, or would you travel to the future of this planet, or perhaps youd try to make an infinite loop so you could live to see the end of the universe.

I don't know if this will be seen, but I would love to recieve an answer from Neil! If wevare all srar dust and I believe we are, then to return to our roots, out base snd to be reconstituted into a new life should we be buried or cremated. I am am extreme claustrophobic, I know, I know, I am dead it won't matter, but before I die it does create so much stress. So cremation or burial, but leave out the good that cremation does for the environment. Thank You!😢

Heres the real question...
what theoretically... could be the absolute earliest possible civilization that could be advanced enough to be the very first civilization to achieve the ability to travel to exo star systems in order to be able to branch out to said exo star systems....also incorporating the ability to do so without destroying themselves due to advanced technology...and still be able to keep advancing forward ????

So if humans one day have the ability to travel to other planets and take resources from another planet would humans then be considered a parasitic race? We take all the the resources from one planet and move to the next once we bleed our current one dry. I suppose that would be our meaning of existence.

I mean Chuck is not wrong about AM and PM. After midnight is after 12 midnight. AM comes at that time. Post morning is after 12 noon. PM comes at that time. He is actually right.

I know that AM stands for Ante Meridian and PM for Post Meridian. At least this is what my teacher taught me when i was 7 years old. I didnt look it up in Google. I might very wrong but Chuck is 100% damn right. Chuck is smarter than me for sure.

I've been the #1 fan of Dr Carl Sagan since my version of first contact via the television with him, albeit one-way-contact. Moreover, he still lives in my heart even after his passing.
Then you came along, Dr Tyson. You are carrying-on his legacy and this video just exemplifies or shows me that you are the one who carries the torch of science, knowledge and curiosity. You make science of learning fun.
So, thank-you to the both of you for this video. It is appreciated, infinitly.

Kinda weird to think we refer to ourselves as “people” when talking from the perspective of an extra terrestrial, when it’s highly probable they do not recognize you as such.

@StarTalk something interesting Matt Burk brought up allowed me to make the connection of the expansion speed of space and a black hole are both unobservable to the eye, this could very well be an explanation/connection that a black hole is in fact a portal to an entire different universe itself.
