I saw this movie as a kid with my uncle who has a big crush on her he really wanted to see dark city but he was babysitting me so he decided to take me with him to the movie i was upset at first because I was more into animated movies at the time but when this scene showed lets just say 1990s Jennifer Connelly in a purple dress was something my little mind couldn't handle and when the movie was over he asked me if I liked it I told him "yeah the girl that was singing was pretty" 😂

It actually makes more sense to use her (non-trained) voice.. based on the established plot of the movie, she may have only become a "lounge singer" a few days ago!

Sorry, not Connelly singing. That's Anita Kelsey's voice. (I bought the soundtrack album right after the movie came out -- that's how I know).

it made the movie make so much more sense. in the theatrical release, her voice was overdubbed with a much more "polished" vocal performance. how would the strangers know she could sing since they randomly switch people around?

the restoration of Connelly's vocal performance made more sense. she wasn't a singer, but was just put into the role as a singer in a club by the strangers and so, her performance was more natural and flawed.

Such a great movie that has been forgotten.

With the age of the suspiciously German doctor, and this song, I'd say the movie is firmly set in the mid 1960s
