I think it wasn't that he wasn't taking his own advice, just that he died 40 times to figure out how to take his own advice and ended up with just giving you his winning strategy. Personal thoughts I guess. Considering he died 8 times to last giant, probably not the best dark souls player but honestly, pretty good guide for a day 1 guide....

To be fair he probably just had fun playing and learning every bit of the game and wrote his cool guy guide on what he did, seeing what worked and what didn't.

The deaths are because you die fast and learn a little bit every time and some things may be patched out.

Ign is for people that wanna beat the game but struggle even booting their console or pc up.

Why the guide guy insists so much on talking to the cat? It's because the 1 day version was much different from today's steam up-to-date version I guess. Maybe they made the cat talk the lore of the boss you defeated or something. I actually watched some 1 day videos and perhaps that's why
