The difference between the books and the series is incredible and yet, they are also very similar. The darkling is somehow scary and yet, trustworthy at the same time, making the betrayal all the worse as the reader feels the trust that Alaina had get shattered. But there are some bigger and smaller differences that impact it quite a bit, like The darkling sharing his name which, in the book, was only done in the last one, ruin and rising as his true identity was actually something very personal that he didn’t give out very easily.
