Thanks for watching! Now tell me, what’s your favorite backpacking food to take with you on a trip, whether it’s overnight or a multiple day trip? What are your favorite backpacking meals and food tips for the trail? Tell me in the comments below.
ОтветитьThanks for the great video! My wife and I are planning to do section H of the PCT (Cascade Locks to White pass next August. It will be our first thru hike. Figuring out what to bring food and stove wise is daunting, and this video will help. Especially cooking for two!
ОтветитьCongrats on your thru-hike, and thanks for being a fellow FOODIE!!
ОтветитьHappy trails and keep on trucking right back Is at you sweetie
Ответить❤❤❤ about to go to Hawaii for an extended exploration on the trails. Great ideas on this video! Just curious if I should buy food stuffs here in Texas or wait until I get to HI?
ОтветитьWhat’s best bout hiking is the more you pig out, the more weight you carry thus… more calories burnt per mile!!
ОтветитьPart of my breakfast consist of ka'chiva with powdered protein mixed in with it
Ответитьpeanut butter
Ответитьone thing i stay away from is high sodium food dehydration made that mistake when i started hiking . luckly the preson with me was a EMT and notice the signs of dehydration
ОтветитьNice video. Thanks. Was your titanium spoon pink? I think Jupiter Hikes may have found it. :)
ОтветитьI'm 6'2" and a big (fat) guy and there is no way on earth I could eat that much food in a day. You must have 5 stomachs lol. Though I am interested in some of dehydrated recipes. I am not doing an experiment on creating my own meals rations, because MRE's are super expensive.
ОтветитьNice! This has to be the best assortment of food I’ve seen, to be honest. It’s usually all mtn house or chef corso
Ответитьwhat tent, what sleeping bag, what roll mat, please and thanks!
ОтветитьNice ideas. Thanks. I will have to say with 35 years of backpacking I have never used any sort of electrolyte supplement which just adds weight and cost. If you are eating enough calories you will be replacing your electrolytes through those foods. I also recommend learning the edible plants that will be in the area you are going and use some of those for roughage and nutrientslacking in a lot of backpacking food. Those plants are mining the minerals you can use even if you just make teas. You won't get many calories from them, however.
ОтветитьReally cool video, great info, and beautiful backdrop! I will be in the PNW soon and hope to do some exploring! Thanks for sharing. Happy trails!
ОтветитьWell done videos. Some of the best I have seen to date. Question: are mice, bears and other wildlife attracted to the scent of the trash your packing out? I understand, in theory,, that you should cook and hang your food some distance away. At what distance and does that include trash? I have planned a hiking trip in Glacier National Park in late August so I am most interested in hearing your thoughts. I tent camped in Yosemite Nation Park years ago and was woken up by a grizzly breaking out the back glass of a station wagon in the campground and going after their floor chest. I believe it was a grizzly because I unzipped the tent and shined my little flashlight and saw nothing but a pair of tiny yellow eyes that looked to be a foot apart looking at me… distance between us I was maybe 300ft… All I could do at the time was zip up the tent and pray for protection. Anyway, thanks a million in advance!
ОтветитьCereal is amazing in the woods
ОтветитьI was like wtf are you lecturing about trash, like it's common sense.
But then I remembered... All the trash the trash people leave behind. It's unbelievable how some people think that's okay.
Love you, because you love LU, my favourite too!
ОтветитьAs a beginner hiker, I used ur 8 day food plan and loved it.. thank u so much 🤙
Ответитьthank you!!
Ответитьnext time you my favorite)))
ОтветитьDid you need to bring a bear canister with you for that section of the PCT? Thanks.
ОтветитьBurn your trash. That way you don’t have to carry it around with you.
ОтветитьI'm gonna find a woman like you! 😁 Can you do a lightweight 30 day 2000 calories load out! Pretty Please! I know it might be alot of space but I'm comfortable with carrying weight.
ОтветитьIn about 2 years when I'm able to be on my own in life, I want to try backpacking because it looks enjoyable and challenging. I found this video very helpful in clearing up what foods should be brought since I tend to get confused with reading articles about this kind of stuff; they can sometimes be fairly vague as well which doesn't help.
Either way... Just wanted to say it was helpful on clearing up this part of backpacking for me. I want to try some extended camping first before I try this kind of stuff but I just wanted to see kind of what I would need to prepare for.
Have you had any issues with cheese on the trail? I want to pack some but wasn't sure how long it how well it keeps
Ответитьwow, that's awesome. I only do weekends trails, I know that "hard" cheese can survive outsite, but salami? it's safe to have salami without refrigeration?
ОтветитьThank you for showing me this. I'm just plannning to be doing a weekend camping trip but I dont want to cook since I'll be canoeing the entire time!
ОтветитьAwesome video!!! Good info for food 🤙🏽
ОтветитьNever seen cheese you don't have to refrigerate; will look out for that
ОтветитьYou changed my life with the PB and Ramen! ❤
ОтветитьShe should try the solo lite wood for fuel I can get mine started with dryer lint and my knife and a ferro rod
Ответитьalmost same cook set here.. with family i take my bigger cook pot but solo do smaller but can use same makeshift cozy :P
Ответитьthe cookies are da bomb
Ответитьone thing that pisses me off the most is when trampers leave their rubush behind
Ответитьplus jet boil is a scam, your'e paying for a brand name rather than a product, i have a copy of the jetboil by campmaster, but its a faster boil
ОтветитьGreat video. A lot of good options there I'll probably check out the holy mole breakfast bars sometime
Ответитьloved this video! wondering if anyone knows the brand of the water filter she is using
ОтветитьAwesome Video!
ОтветитьCame for the food, and stayed for the smile! Thanks. subscribed
ОтветитьYou mean to tell me Canada has laws about unlawful crossing of their boarder, and people actual obey those laws, imagine that
ОтветитьI'd like to see your whole set up. It looks like you had a great hike.
ОтветитьHow do you deal with knee pain on downhills
ОтветитьThanks learning alot great video
