Superhero fatigue is not the problem.....it's the studios who refuse to plan and instead sacrifice story, world building, continuity and characters......all for wokeness and cheap diversity. They believe just the brand name alone will brainwash people into throwing money. They will soon realize that the audience isn't that dumb.

Um I honestly hate the direction that Disney takes and I hate the actress of snow white even more. I don't hate her race and skin colour I just hate her personality, like changing the hole narrative of the story from a story about a princess escaping her abusive mother who hated her for her beauty to a boss bitch. Idk how to describe it, this kind of story is there only for a small cash grab that prays on peoples nostalgia, no love, no respect and no seriousness was put into the project.

Im gonna be honest here, i loved TLM remake despite the flaws and negativity it has. But when I heard what was happening w/the snow white remake, lord. Major difference. The snow white remake most certainly will bomb.

I disagree with one thing and that is that Peter Dinklage meant well. I don't think he meant well at all I think he just wanted to pull the ladder up from behind him. He used his stacker to get a roll written for a dwarf propelled himself to the front line and then make sure that no other dwarfs would be able to get those roles. I have a cousin who's a dwarf who absolutely fucking hates Peter Dinklage and would actually be quite happy if Peter got jumped in an alley way.

Gotta say it's super weird to hear this from Gal Gadot, who's been firmly pushing the "we're all in this together" line for years now when it comes to gender equality etc. I can't help but feel like the execs send her to these interviews with instructions that fit better with her roots as a model rather than an experienced actress who's very outspoken in her beliefs: smile, nod, and from time to time say like one thing about how girlboss Snow White is - which let's be frank is barely a step above "look pretty and shut up". Feels fake

I would be fine if they kept the movies like no way home and had their charicters wake up a week after the thanos fight eith the excuse that what peter did forced the world to change.

I’ve always loved Snow White, so I feel protective over the original. This new version sounds like it means well, but it’s giving Cinderella 2021.

It's so pathetic that nearly everyone with IQ thinks that movies that involve Disney princesses are seen as the "dAmsEls In DiStReSs" which is not true.

For instance in The Little Mermaid, Ariel didn't want to go to the surface just because of Eric, but rather she wanted to know more about humans and their world; she wanted to be, part of that world. Eric acted as kinda as a guide for Ariel since she has no experience to the surface, though at the same time, Ariel kinda needed Eric to break Ursula's curse.

Let’s just hope that their upcoming animated feature Wish can make a great sum of money for the company as they are willing to bring families back to the big screen.

Rachel Zegler would be perfect to play the role of the Evil Queen in Snow White. She has this exceptional ability to annoy people with her phrases and facial expressions. I have nothing against her but I think she should play bad woman roles. I'm absolutely sure the whole world would love it. Rachel, if you're reading this, ask to play the Evil Queen in Snow White! You'll see how people will love you! And if you can't do it in this movie, then ask to play a mean woman in other movies! Please don't waste your time playing nice! You are not made for this! Everything that Disney is making nowadays is hot garbage… I am awaiting patiently for their implosion.

So they missed the point of the original. The lesson of it was vanity can be cruel especially if that's all you focus on cause you know the queen died over it. And she doesn't need the prince to save her? OK if a kiss is gonna wake you up from a coma wouldn't you want someone to do it?

The new Snow White film sounds like a complete drag. 😩 I definitely won’t be watching it.

You could argue that it was a purposeful play on the two meanings of "fairest" where the queen was using one definition while the mirror was working by both, and chose Snow not only because she was beautiful but because she was exceedingly kind.

In my opinion, if they want to make the plot of these stories the way they wanted, why not do more changes like the name of the characters and title?
For example, instead of "Snow White", this could be a new princess with a different name.
Disney have made movies that are not based on fairy tales such as Bolt, Home on the Range, and Halloween Town.
What would be stopping these new writers?

at this point disney is cooked i cant relate to anything that new movies have. honestly it feels just like a regular movie and not a product of THE Disney

Disney doesn't genuinely care about social justice. They care about their bottom line, like all capitalists. They try to be "politically correct" or "representative" because they fear bad PR or think it will be good marketing. There's no sincere care there, and their only alignment is to money. They cancelled a show like the Owl House over concerns it was too queer and definitely hold back from showing genuine LGBT beyond suggestion. They shot Mulan live-action in the region known for exploiting Uighurs. And they exploit their animators, employees, and personnel horribly - many of whom are LGBT, women, and minorities. Politics didn't kill Disney - greed and short-sightedness did.

Is it really too late to

1. Swap the two leads - Gal Gadot plays Snow White and Rachel Zegler plays the evil queen (as an oompa-loompa).
2. Throw out the magical bandits, and hire real dwarves (anybody except Peter Dinklage) instead.
3. Change the script so it matches the 1937 original, word for word (no striking writers required)

I personally dont experience "superhero fatigue", could watch hours of it every day if i had time for it. but as mentioned, the problem arises when they focus on "quantity over quality" (and being "woke" etc..), and becos of this i now barely see any reason to actually watch the good ones i still havent seen...

Cinderella was by far their best live action. Mirror Mirror did a better snow white at least for me

Love that Disney bought so many companies and properties (Marvel, Fox, Lucas Films) and is now getting overwhelmed because that stunt cost them billions of dollars that they can’t make back with their shitty remakes. It’s like a kid that stole their mom’s credit card. They have no one to blame but themselves.

This is what happens when people making entertainment are too cynical.
Say what you will about Walt Disney, but he was successful because there was some idealism to his work.

Imagine if we made a movie set in Africa, based off a story from the region set in let's say, the 6th century. made the characters a hodgepodge of Indians, whites, native Americans, and asians, picked out the actors not because of talent but because their race fits a quota. Not to mention called the original tale racist and sexist for not having other races in it. Imagine the sheer backlash of if we did something like that today.
If that doesn't sound right to you then it shouldn't be right if I swapped out Africa with Northern Europe and made the time period the middle ages. Putting in racially diverse casts for the sake of diversity is not great if it doesn't make any goddamn sense. Why would you cast a Filipino to play Leif Erikson? (A viking from Iceland) You wouldn't, because it doesn't make any goddamn sense. Or if a story's depiction of women isn't to your specific liking, maybe consider the original story was written in the days of napoleon, and the story takes place in the middle ages.
To summarize, if your change to a existing story serves no point besides furthering a vendetta, for the love of god don't make that change.

It's strange that Disney is so slapdash and lazy with projects costing hundreds of million of dollars. Putting out MoM before finishing WandaVision shows how little they cared about getting things right.

The only movie that portrayed washed-up superheroes with depth was Watchmen. Indiana, Thor, Luke etc are just be hobbled to 1) make the point that older white males are terrible people and 2) to make way for a new, more acceptably diverse hero replacement.

Snow white had a good story about love but be damned I guess.
