Games like this really show just how effectively a developer can create tension and fear, despite having very little actual content in a game, just by being good at what they do.

did john pay attention to episode 2? It literally ends like 30 seconds after anything scary happens because guy 1 walks in to punch guy two, the other 40 minutes was driving and walking back and forth to grab this or that.

I didn't like this episode. Not only it feels like a bloated version of home alone (being literally home alone, doing homework, eating Italian in front of the TV, someone's at the door twice) with extra unnecessary narration, except in that bigger house you don't have a good place to hide. Also, the lady being 'on drugs' is terrible since she got the knife even before she talked to the guy, meaning she wanted to hurt/kill him anyway: she stabs him if you encounter her before they talk.

I disagree about the death in the kitchen being unfair, I think that's exactly what you get for charging into that situation blindly like that despite the tools at your disposal. I believe they set that up just right.

All of the cuts really killed the flow and mood a few times. But I gotta say, pretty sure that’s the first time I’ve seen John shit himself like that lmao

I like this game they need to make an episode with babysitting kids since this genre focus with a stranger in the room and/or house. At this point after if more episode are made the developer(s) need to use urban legend style games.

the character's age in this game is weird. he has homework to do, and I could swear the intro said he'd 28 or something, and they say "back in high school" at the grocery store immediately followed by "see you at school monday." and the kids look like teenagers. I am super confused about all this.
UPDATE: oooooh, the character is 28 NOW, TELLING the story about being back in high school. it's hard to remember that when the character "thinks" he's thinking from the perspective of being far in the future.... but what still doesn't make sense is them having smart phones with windows xp computers running antivirus software from 1996. i so confused. if they had just said "this story takes place in 2009" my brain would rest easier.

Sorry but if you ever dealt with obsessive drug addicted people/family members this is unfortunately accurate. The "harmful narrative" thing is only if you have never dealt with this genre of people. Which is unfortunate.

I'm a little puzzled as to what the point was for the background info about the Carson's divorce. Just a red herring? It's so downplayed that I find it odd to even think of it as that.
