Video Games in general sparked my love of creativity. Mainly my love of stories, how they can vary, how differently they can be told, etc. Though I certainly have gained a love for creativity in general. To call so many things a form of art feels to me, a way of underselling so much. To call all those things, works of creativity, truly sells them. A drawing is not just a collection of colors. A book is not just a collection of words. A picture is formed from ideas that were birthed in a human mind, and put into visible form. A book is written from ideas that were also birthed in a human mind, put into readable form.
We put pieces of ourselves in what we make. Whether it be writing, drawing, coding, building, and oh so much more, there will always be pieces of us involved in creation. Whether it's visibly there, or not.
you know I wouldn't mind a comment stating where all these shots came from, some are obvious but not all and not to everyone...
oh...
just got to end and saw there are credits showing the games anyway very, very good video celebrating the arts medium
The master chief and the pilot moment got me good bro
ОтветитьPS4 Spider-Man being left out is wrong. The Aunt May scene got me.
Ответитьrdr2 always makes me cry man a fking video game makes me cry goddamn RIP Arthur Morgan ♥
Ответитьouter wilds raaaahhh :')
Ответитьthis was a masterpiece
ОтветитьWhat kinda masturbatory persecution complex are ya'll on? Who even is unironically trying to talk down on Elden Ring in the weakest, most lukewarm way?
Ответитьfor me when liberty prime get blasted down in the operation ancorage DLC in fallout 3, is probably the only time i ugly cried at a video game and its not even the most sad happening, it just took me so so so hard by suprise.
Ответить"I wrote a blog post that explains why I f***ing hate video games, cause this is what it does, it appeals to the male fantasy!"
-The Male Fantasy: To allow themselves to feel something: without guilt, shame, or societal pressure. Video games allow us to feel in a way we aren't allowed to.
The three game lines seared in my brain are:
“Protocol 3: Protect the Pilot.”
and
“As long as you live, the heart of this army can never be broken.”
and
“Everything that was asked of us - we've done. Every night we lay in a filthy foxhole - prayin' the enemy won't slit our throats. Every day we spent crawling through the mud and the dirt while bullets whistled all around. But this is the last time we're gonna have to put our lives on the line. This is the enemy's last stand. When we take Shuri Castle, we go home. All of us.”
Games are an art form like any other.
"It's not about changing the world, it's about doing our best to leave the world the way it is"
ОтветитьLil pup started The Last Jedi of Us Part 2💀
ОтветитьOne thing that stuck with me since I first experienced it was a scene from Halo Infinite where you rescue a dying Spartan. Your controller starts vibrating to his heartbeat. So, as the cutscene progresses, the vibrations pulse weaker and slower, until it finally stops as he dies. You literally feel his life slip away.
ОтветитьGoofy
Ответитьrdr 2 and detroit become human, damn, gosh damn.
ОтветитьI'm a gamer and I'm a year late, but this is HOLY CRINGE.
Ответитьman I was not ready for this feels trip. yet this is exactly what i needed
ОтветитьWhere's Watch_Dogs?
ОтветитьHuge respect for imcluding black ops, that campaign was pure gold
ОтветитьThank u for making
ОтветитьDamn. I actually just cried.
ОтветитьNo red dead redemption 1?
ОтветитьIn the words of a great Jedi master. "Failure is not the end. It is a necessary part of the path." -Eno Cordova
Ответить"Just promise one thing Chief... before this is all over youll figure out which one of us is the machine"
Remembering that quote from Halo 4 and then seeing Chief relate to Esparza in Infinite is soul crushing because it makes you realize Chief understands hes human but still struggles to fully understand exactly what it means to be Human, but is still carrying out Cortanas promise because "dont make a girl a promise, when you know you cant keep it"
It may surprise some to consider Baldur's Gate III being a good fit for this list. The game can be many things to many people. It can be played as a bit of a romp. But playing a game with such excellent writing, that can express, at times, what it is to be quintessentially human, has been a transcendent experience for me. Dealing with scenarios where there really is no satisfactory answer, or facing the pain of impending death, after having put on a brave face for so long, is the stuff of real life. I have to say, it's actually been the most moving "entertainment" experience of my life so far. Some of that could be attributed to some of the things going on in my own life at the moment, but I've found solace and catharsis in being part of a group of flawed individuals, simply fighting to continue existing.
If you are one of those whose dismissed it, I can only say, the choices you make generally have very real consequences for the experience you'll have. Even choices that may seem innocuous can return to bless or haunt you. I've played the game for close to 800 hours, and I'm still not tired of it, nor does it feel stale. That's a hell of a value for $60.
I am not a hero, for i am many.
Ответитьfirst quote is so true, I remember I started journaling because of Arthur Morgan and RDR2. The fact that you can just revisit an old experience and reflect on it from the future really fascinated me. Now it's a great way for me to be in tune with my emotions and why I feel the way I feel. Sometimes I still feel like I'm Arthur when I'm writing down in my journal.
Ответитьthank you
ОтветитьTo me, nothing is ever gonna beat the Undertale one. In Uriel's House in the ending, you interact with a mirror, and the text box, combined with the music, just broke me soo much that it still makes me tear up just think about it
ОтветитьBoy Ashtar Command really killed it with that song didn't they?
Ответитьbruh that infinite warfare clip made me cry ngl
ОтветитьPhantom pain should’ve had a face paint option and after that scene “ash” should’ve been one of them
ОтветитьBut when does a game happen in cutscene hunter?
Ответитьif Dom's death from Gears of War 3 isn't in here, I'm going to be pissed, especially considering Halo is here
Ответитьwhere is batman arkham
ОтветитьTbh I’ve never really been a fan of these “Story games” they are just too boring imo. I think the only story game I’ve ever really liked was the first telltale walking dead game. Otherwise the Last of Us and RDR2 just feel super boring to play.
ОтветитьWhere is titan fall 2, hitman and battlefield 3. Too much "the last of us"... Like jeez did you play only on play station?
ОтветитьOuter Wilds changed how I viewed life tbh
ОтветитьNice video and well made. I miss a few of my favourites, especially scenes from the Mass Effect Trilogy.
Ответить"I'm not scared of anything... I'm just afraid to fail"
-Someone before me (probably)
I always craft a intricate story inside my head as a game and then forget it the very second I stop think about it
ОтветитьYou put this Inception music over anything and it becomes epic!
ОтветитьNo, the best was made by VGW jack. The transition, the music. It was awesome and has more views
ОтветитьProtocol 3: Protect the Pilot
ОтветитьNo Halo: Reach?
ОтветитьI’m very happy to see that ark made the list
Ответитьthe game that made who I am today I would say is The trilogy of Mass Effect. You have worked all three games to make relations with the ones that hated you, gave them a second chance. To in end to lost it all. In a way you made their last moment enjoyable with a friend by your side. Videos games are Movies that your partake in.
Sorry for if I mispelled anything...
