its not a miracle on how they off on a capital conviction after only 4 years. It is pure corruption. The family paid off the judge. Case closed. Lazy, sex-craved, western men who can't score a woman in their home country move to Thailand to use Thai women and to stay drunk/high. They quickly run out of money and easily agree to sell drugs and traffic women. Some get caught and go to prison. If their family has enough money to buy their way out of prison, they go home. Otherwise, they sit in prison. That's the formula. It's not complicated.

How stupid could people get! There are clear and stringent warnings at the port of entry and exit in many of these no nonsense Asian countries that say "The price of carrying out/ bringging in drugs is death" in these countries, yet these jangos are so stupid that they'll carry drugs into these countries. If they are arrested and sentenced to death, their parents then come out and ask what right has the country to sentence their loved ones to death. AMAZING! Western laws do not apply in Asia, guys. Obey the laws of other countries and you will have your life with you unscathed, free and easy.

Many aspects to this story. Sounded like the Thai police had a good case against these people, but when their witnesses lost their credibility their case fell apart. Listening to the story it sounds like they were probably guilty of the charges but eventually dodged the symbolic bullet. Since they are back in Australia and nothing has happened i have to question whether they were really guilty of these crimes. If they had killed the leader of the Hell's Angels, i believe the gang would have killed them by now. To me this leads to their credibility. Personally hearing this case i would have thought the death sentence was called for. From a legal definition, i would believe they should have been acquitted, as they were.
