As a big fan of Fractal (all machines I ever built use Fractal cases if budget allows), I can only nod with a big smile on my face.

I'm surprised the motherboard didn't include one of those GPU anti-sag brackets. I have the Asus PRIME X670E-PRO WIFI which did come with said bracket. I also got this board as an amazon return which makes it even more surprising that said bracket wasn't stolen by the person who returned it.

there are not many parts i dont cheap out on but PSU is one i dont cheap out on at all, always top quality. reason if PSU craps the bed it can take everything with it.
yea AIO arent worth it, just like any water cooling
with ram only number i care about is that number with GB beside it all others is it better then base Yes OK

this is almost the exact specs of the pc im building. AIO coolers are not as expensive here in the states, a well performing one will run you $110-130.

My favorite cases are Nanoxia Towers and Supermicro 19". I do not like cheap ones. They spill my blood every single time i have to use them.

I use be-quiet or Supermicro power supplies, Asus or Supermicro Mainboards, AMD or Intel - idc, Crucial on PC and Kingston or Crucial Server Memory, depending on availability and usually Samsung SSDs. Sometimes i use Seagate SAS SSD's for Servers whcih have a better bandwidth utilization than the Samsungs with Braodcom/LSI Controllers/HBA's. Intel 10 GB and in some cases very expensive Chelsio for TrueNAS.

Tomaž, why don't you use Samsung 990 PRO (price difference is negligible)? Everything else look like top end.

I bought the Fractal North XL a couple of weeks ago. It's such a pretty case and it was surprisingly nice to build in. My 4090 + 13700k are happy campers.

Manli only offers a 2 year warranty for 4080 RTX. That speaks for itself how confident they are in the longevity of this GPU. Stay away from this chinese brand.

Hey, so I also have a Define R6, is that still a good case to build new (aircooled) systems in? I worry that the airflow is a bit too limited for modern components.

Just wondering why are you planning to use soldered on ram om the router

Much more important than x3d parts being on par with the recent Intel counterparts is the fact that they draw less than half the power for that. You don't even need to pay that much attention to ram, just pick any 6000MT kit and you're good.

Perfect components! I don't like the case, but that's personal.
It shows that we are oldtimers.. PSU and MOBO overkill xD

AIOs are great for nontechnical people, that needs a bit more of OC. I don't know who that is..because me, personally would just build an costume loop, but there clearly is a market for them.
Currently i'm on AIR tho. There is just something simple, to dust your fins once a year and be done with it.

I run 32t CPU on 4.5Ghz.. I know that i'm not the target audience for your talk about air cooling, but CPU get RLY hot when utilized, like 100C hot. (And i know what I am doing.. lowest possible voltage, good AIR cooler..)

Lovely video man, a weel diserved thumbs up!
Had a couple questions for you as I'm planning a similar build myself. I've read that the PSU slot is a bit narrow and can cause some issues, curious whether you encountered any? Likewise for the GPU, is it blocking hard drive bays? I'm also planning on putting an AIO, there should be enough space at the top, fingers crossed I guess

Finally, you mentioned third party anti sag bracket for the GPU, would you have any recommendations to share on those you liked?

1. i9 instead of 4090? very stupid. 2. amd ram problems aren't a thing anymore since forever. buy 6000cl30, enable expo, done. 3. 100fps at 1440p at raytracing ultra is all well and good. now enable pathtracing.

Thanks for the build. great presentation. one question i have is about the clearence for the pro5 and the TG side panel, tech specs would indicate only a 2mm wriggleroom, there was a very brief view of the completed build but it didnt have the side panel on. Would have been nice to have done some arty shots of the finished build having put in the effort to. Goodluck for future videos.
