Grambling sound look like "I'm just here so I won't lose my scholarship!!" There announcers sounded delusional at times. Southern, Southern, Southern!!!... What's it gonna take to get those trumpets, shoot the whole upper brass to show up?!!! Plus they need to work on those tempos fasho. Todd and Collins should be on demand!!! The bayou classic has been DEAD for years. When you have to add high school bands to the event (s/o to them) to keep ppl some interested you know it’s over. And that bs gsu did towards the end just proves that it’s time for something else at this point.

This battle didn’t give me that razzle dazzle from the battles of old smh I’m hoping for a match for Boombox 2.0

Have to cut the announcers out of this battle.

The high school battle was so much better

Everybody had something that they could work on (certain songs or parts of songs) but Grambling rode the Struggle Bus for the battle and for the game!!

tell you the truth southern needs to get some more band members from new orleans cause they are losing their power and attitude with the members they have now kick the whole band out and go get hammer back and get rid of Dr. Lee my opinion would rather have simmons instead ....once upon a time new orleans the marching band mecca had a big influence on Southern now it has been purposely removed from the band. It seems like they arent going get the dogs from New Orleans and BR who are accustomed to battling. # don't shoot the messenger @KBThaBandhead

I wont say they didnt know the 3rd song..they definitely knew it..they playing it..but they didn't wanna play from the looks of it in person.

IMO both bands need some work....

Sometimes some of Southern arrangements sound alike fr fr. Like, I like an aggressive sound from time to time… but the monotony of the block chords in many of their arrangements lackluster. Grambling just need more practice fr fr and better arrangements.

Gram didn’t execute but I’m so glad they’re ATTEMPTING!! They’re light years beyond where they were 2 years ago.

As a Grambling band student we left early because the officers told us we had to but we came back(the part of the video you didn’t watch) but you can definitely see what director is not favored by the band in my opinion because of his underwhelming arrangements and lackluster song selections

This was one of the most boring Bayou Classic BOTB I’ve ever seen. I enjoyed the high school battle waaay better than this.
