Id love to know, from experts, if the move toward computerization of markets has had a measurable effect on the level of personal responsibility of traders and companies. What occurs to me, in watching this, is that there was at that time a human side of trading that perhaps stabilized markets. Afterall, youd have to see those same people at work tomorrow!

In general, i think stability gets a bad rap: "that's boring, dumb, milquetoast". Stirring things up is exciting, but everyone stirring things up all the time everywhere creates an instability that is not fun at all. Just chaos.

I can't help but feel this entire line of work is unproductive for mankind. Make no mistake, I love capitalism but I work as an engineer, so every penny I make is creating things of actual use and/or designing systems to improve human life. Trading over coin value for the value of coin itself doesn't really create wealth as much as it scams and its a perversion of the original intent of stock market (IE to allow people to invest or 'gamble' in which companies that actually did things for the real world and should said companies be successful the profits would be shared with investors)

I mostly had a positive experience with the US stock market---I bought up dozens and dozens of shares of Bank of America stocks in 2011 when the shares were down to about $4.00 each.....they had been $30 a share just two years earlier. I sat on them for a few years and resold them at $16---a quadrupled my money in that one instance. I could have waited longer and gotten more....maybe much more....or lost a lot if they went down again. Green and fear go hand in hand when dealing with stock exchanges like this! Wait or cash out?
