Pixel cameras seem to be slipping.

Disappointing battery life and charging speed. I could live with it if it was fast to charge like some of the Xiaomi phones.. The phone will be long past it's best days before the software updates cease. Good speakers and a decent camera though.

Just picked up the Pixel 8 yesterday at best buy with their black friday deal! About 300$ cheaper than the pro and the only things i really miss out on is a telephoto lens and "pro" camera features

Have you done a speed test with 2.4g wifi???
Pixel 8 is not compatible with 801.11 bgn 2.4g wifi, only with 801.11 ax 2.4g wifi...5g wifi there is no problems....
I am only getting 2mbps download speed with b/g/n enabled!!!! Sadly, my smarthome devices can't connect to ax only 2.4g wifi!!! So basically I am screwed....and public wifi is mostly 2.4g bgn!!!!

I just got a pixel 8 pro from att with a fully paid upgrade (36mo payoff discount) trade in on a Samsung A32 (hopefully it goes through smoothly). It's nice to have a phone not bloated with ATT/Samsung shovelware. I wish it had a headphone jack and sd card slot, but besides that i am really liking it. Photography is my hobby, and I own lots of high end cameras, but this is the first "pro" camera phone I have owned. DNG support for editing in Adobe Lightroom sounds like a great idea... can't wait to test it out.

If the battery life was good, it would be an easier purchase. Unfortunately it's still poor.

Don't get fooled by the 7 years of updates. No one still uses their old phone from 7 years ago, that's iPhone 7 / original Pixel 1. It's not going to last 7 years before you upgrade, judge it by the performance now

I think In Depth Tech Reviews did a thermal test with the S23 Ultra, Apple 15Pro Max and the Pixel 8 Pro beat the Apple 15 Pro Max in thermals so that part of this review isn't 100% accurate.

I hate the tiny incremental upgrades compared to last generation Pixel phones. I'll stick with my Pixel 6a for now.

I think when you review a Pixel you should point out that they are the only kind of phone supported by GrapheneOS, which is a major feature in my opinion, and may intrigue people who are unaware of the existence of privacy-conscious Android variants.

I would describe that as "damning with faint praise". It would be good if it was $200 cheaper but at that price why not buy the Iphone 15 which offers more or the the Pixel 7 which can be picked up for half the price.

The phone doesn't feel premium and mid of the screen feels hollow when you typing, unbelievable annoying, the whole screen doesn't feel like is made of glass at all but more like hard plastic. This phone also suffer from scrolling lag , sometimes a full 2 seconds lag

I still have a Pixel 5 as i love the compact size (small hands) but battery has declined and some pictures are slow to take. Will the 8 still have a better battery and worth the upgrade?

how do you afford these phones ? are you from singapore / tiwan living in finland /sweden ?

too many bugs to be considered a good phone... it is a shame that android a project on which is part of google, to have such bad optimization, performance and all those bugs... there are no excuses for that... the shattering, the lag, screen freeze, the bad modem and connectivity, the poor battery life, the crashes, etc... They can do whatever they do with "AI", but is it really what you will be using in your daily routine? I want a phone that will respond quick and be as reliable as it can be... I am sending my pixel 8 pro back... and I'll go for something else this year.

Why didn't you mention that if you turn off your internet connection, the "AI" features stop working?

7 years of software updates is meaningless without a user replaceable battery

Battery timing should have been improved. Otherwise, an all round better phone. Plus, 7 years of OS update is remarkable.

The lower portion of display is still little bit thicker than the rest of the display edges 😢

I just wish that Google gave the base model the matte glass on the back rather than the glossy that they keep going for. I get it, they're looking to different the premium model from the mid tier model, but it would be cool to have options.
