I think that with starter homes over $300k in southern NH and most of MA the smartest option right now is to just buy a multi-family. For less than double the price of a single-family you can have multiple units contributing to your mortgage. And if you live in one of the units you still get all the government programs and assistance that other first-time buyers get.

I relocated due to the lockdowns - I am not focusing yet to come back to NE with the current issues from the current governor of the Commonwealth. Also, inventory is low - because why relocated and double your mortgage from rates that used to be at 3 to 4% and now are at 8 and will be going up one more time if Jerome Powell makes one more move. With the debt crisis, economic crisis coming including the commercial Relestate is going to experience a crash - residential inventory will increase when the interest rates drop and they will drop. Prices cannot continue at this level - there WILL be a correction and timing and planning are key. I am putting away for the opportunity - that I am not rushing until things progress - back to New England. So to everyone - don’t do anything emotionally - it will destroy you. Gain perspective on what is going on economically and politically - wait and things will and are going to change.

From RI, moved to CO within the last two years and wanting to move back to Maine or Vermont eventually for a more calm way of life. As someone in their early 20's, I really have no hope it's going to get better either. 🥲

I personally feel that the majority of these video really encourage people not to move there. I have watched almost all your videos as someone looking into relocating to the New England region. I appreciate both side of the spectrum however it mostly seems more cons than pros being presented.

Here in Lexington, South Carolina, we are facing the same challenges. Three acres of raw land listed in our area for $450K is nuts. People living in subdivisions are being bought out by corporations. These corporations will buy the home and rent it out. I think that is the cause for the low inventory. At least it is around here. These corporations are making big $$$$ doing this. FYI, if anyone in Eastport Maine who wants to move to Lexington, SC, and trade homes, let me know. Thanks
