I was just seven years old on November 22, 1963 - and was in my second grade classroom, when Mother Superior (our school Principal) came rushing into the room to relate the awful news. We kids were very scared and confused. The memory, for me, is as clear as this morning. We need to know! I am 68 now, and have studied the JFK assassination for decades.

But the FBI would have needed someone to immediately replace JFK were anything to "happen" to him. - and that person soon became….. Lyndon B. Johnson. He was there in Dallas when JFK was assassinated… and he was inside Air Force One (along with Jackie Kennedy) when the plane was taxiing before takeoff… and he was actually given the Presidential oath of office while that plane was in the air! I was 13 years old in algebra class. Mr. Schroeder was doing an equation on the blackboard when the Principal Mr. Bagnall came on the P.A. To announce the news that President Kennedy had just been assisted. The whole class started buzzing about the news when Mr. Schroeder loudly said “Quiet!” and then finished doing his algebra equation and told us to be quiet and do our homework assignment. I’m 74 years old now and still remember that. Guess he must have been a Republican 😂

Same here. For a long time I dismissed the people who said it was people inside our government. Highly placed people. We were lied to back then. I was in Jr. High school on that day. We were lined up in the cafeteria waiting for the bell to send us to our next class when a boy I knew came running down the empty hall yelling "President Kennedy's been shot!". The bell rang and went to class and the teacher told us there would be an announcement by the principal over the speaker. The principal told us the president had been shot and taken to a hospital. We were going to be dismissed as soon as the buses were there to take kids home. If we walked to school we could leave now. So I went home and Mom was watching the news on TV. I'll never forget. Like 9-11, somethings can never be forgotten.
