Audi S8 has the nicest interior (integrated displays and coherent design). S-class nicest exterior. 7-series probably the most satisfying to drive.

During the last two years I've had a Continental GT (2020) and a S8 (2021 facelift, because Bentley postponed the ordered GT Speed four times). Yesterday I got me a S580 4M. This is my first S-Class since a 1982 380SE I bought in the early 2000s when I was young and some 560SELs which I had in my oldtimer collection a few years ago. When the W223 was released I didn't care. I didn't like the rear ("nice Hyundai") and I couldn't believe Mercedes was serious putting this interior into a car. Well...I'm absolutely in love with the car. The 4.0 V8 is great and, what I couldn't imagine month ago, I love the interior and all that technology stuff. I mean, I loved KNIGHT RIDER when I was young and now the Merc talks to me and does as I want it to do. And even if it doesn't jump, there IS a Turbo Boost... 😎
Really, this car is fantastic. The S8 was great as well, but the S-Class is a bit more modern and the MBUX is a decade more advanced than anything else.

I will go with the 7 series the SClass so boring

How's the 4d sound system compared to Naim for Bentley? I hear Naim only slightly better but they're the 2 best out right now.

Wow thats honestly a disappointing spec, no rear heated or cooled seats?!? not even rear climate control either? I mean come on the thing is 130 grand of pure luxury.

Looks nice but it seems most of the American specs lack so many features that make the interior too basic. Not even a climate control for rear seat passengers. Such features should be standard in an s class. I wonder why.

Which vehicle were you more satisfied with, the s580 or the recently reviewed m760i? I wonder how you felt when compared in various aspects such as luxury, ride comfort, and driving texture.

The S8 has to be compared to the S63 (coming soon), not to the S580.
And, the 130mph top speed is in your state. In some US states and in the majority of countries, the S580 top speed is limited to 156mph.
And, your are right, “it’s the S580” the one to be proud to drive every single day.

just based on looks im choosing the S580 over the 7 series. but I like the 7 series interior better

i absolutely love the S580 and everything about it but i’d probably go S8

I wish carmakers tried harder to properly integrate the dash screens. They often stick out like glued on tablets.

I think the new 7 series looks better because you can actually tell it's a new 7 series with the unique design, vs this "new" s class that looks reminiscent of practically every other sedan model Mercedes has (minus the A class).

The spirit of sports cars is slowly eroding. Look at all the useless electrical gadgets on the dashboard 🤣🤣. Looks like more expensive fixes in the future.

Hands down, I'd take the Mercedes S 580, especially in that awesome spec of Green/Brown - what a stunning combination. The S class encourages buyers to add features, and even the neighbors will never let you forget the options you declined. Frugal car people are advised to stay clear of the Mercedes S class as saving money is Not an option. Awesome car and awesome drive review, Miles.

It's very conservative but definitely prettier than the 7er. The somewhat kitschy Maybach version, with its extra bling, betrays everything that makes the S desirable to me.

The big daddy of all luxury sedans. I had the chance to ride one, which had fully decked out rear seat - recline, leg rest, massage, and heated/cooled.
