I'm nearly 70 and I can hit my 7 iron about 140metres. Is that good
ОтветитьThe new clubs are less loft and hit the ball a long way. Nice lesson though.
ОтветитьNice drill, I will try this tomorrow.
Ответитьhey man, i cant make solid contact. keep topping it or it shanks to the right.... really hard. im struggling with early release so bad.
ОтветитьWhen I do this drill I feel like I never finish my backswing which causes me to block the ball to the right. What up with that?
ОтветитьSlight up and down motion, your club was almost at a perfect back swing for most golfers,
ОтветитьFloat Loading!!!🙌🙌🙌
ОтветитьThis seems like it makes sense. Im going to work on this. Im coming back after a 7byear layoff and have lost 15 yards on each club and its a terrible feeling
ОтветитьIm really excited to try this. One year I just lost yardage out of nowhere. One of the furthest off of the tees. Usually 280 carry. But then struggle hard like very hard to get yardage to my irons. Use to be 9 iron 150. Now its either an 8 or 7. Im not even old just one year I just couldnt hit it far
ОтветитьOoh I love this drill, I’ll try it next time I go to the range!
ОтветитьI got to a 2 hdcp 1995, quit playing in 2008, am only 5'10.5" and 180 lbs and could never get beyond the average distances and could not understand how skinny guys that were 6'2" could blast it 300 yrds, that when they were 18 and 3" shorter, same skinny I could outdrive them at 275, and a few later they grew 3" taller and same weight, and then they blow it by me. A few pros told me then that it was height and large arc of swing and that height helped increase club speed, and also strength, rubber band style. I tried everything and could not drive it past 260, 3 wd 215, 5 wd 200, 2 iron 200, 3 iron 185, 5 iron 170, 7 iron 160, 8 iron 155, 9 iron 140 and PW 120-125. Fastforward and im 1.5" taller, 30 lbs heavier and probably less strong than at age 38.. My estimated club speed was 112. Id give anything to each that 300 yrd mark with driver, hit my 5: 200 yrds, 7: 180, 8: 160 and 9: 150 and PW 135+ I could control those irons from 5 on up. What do we clubs does a 62 yr old use now having not played since 2008.. I need some flexability, strength training, some sort of juice to boost performance, and maybe longer clubs. Ive heard longer grips provide better everything.
ОтветитьI know this is an older video but DUDE. I literally went out to my back yard and did your drill and then started hitting my foam balls much much farther. I watch a lot of golf tip videos, but this one worked for me 100%.
ОтветитьThank you, from a beginner- saving to my golf lesson’s playlist
ОтветитьI'm hoping this will help me break the kind of "barrier" I'm dealing with right now. I have 3-PW oversized head irons that none of them go over 130yd carry. My 3 iron is my longest club and unless I CRUSH it I'm not getting it past 100... I played baseball, and hockey, and haven't ever been a "small" guy but this is just frustrating 😅
ОтветитьOne problem I had with this is having the tendency to DROP DOWN AND MOVE TOWARDS THE BALL.
My brain KNOWS it wants to create power, so it drops my body-weight DOWN to assist gravity in MOVING THE CLUB.
Resultingly, I'd CHUNK IT, hit the ground 3 inches BEHIND THE BALL.
I had to really FOCUS on only moving my body FORWARD. Yes, you still drop a little-bit, because of how the HIPS MOVE, but other than that, you shouldn't be bending your knees MORE.
Starting with no back swing is really hard, you make it look so easy. Starting from level is a little bit easier.
ОтветитьWatched this video on Saturday and tried this drill during my Sunday practice session. OMG I had been struggling with consistent center face contact. I am 64 and using this drill and alternating it in with full swings I started having consistent contact and hit several 7 irons 160+ which is about a 10-15 yard increase AND trajectory was much higher! Thank you! I look forward to more of your videos!
ОтветитьCan I use this drill for drivers as well
ОтветитьThanks Eric you have really impacted my game with the knowledge you share
ОтветитьGREAT STUFF!!!
150 is about my #7 distance and I'm going to try that tomorrow.
Thanks!
It's just an excellent lesson. Thanks Eric.
ОтветитьThanks i hit 163 on my 7 iron for the first time since I started golf 3 months ago
ОтветитьI'm wondering if this would help with driving the ball as well.
Ответитьhaha I tried this and it was crazy. Love it, thanks
ОтветитьHi Eric, I am new to your channel. would like to know the key check point especially in Step 1. How would I know if im doing it right/wrong?
ОтветитьDo you give lessons at this course and is this the Bethlehem golf club in Pennsylvania?
ОтветитьI found this drill very helpful to hit further and straighter but how does it figure in to pausing at the top that you highlight in a recent video? Is the rapid fire at the top used here just for the drill purposes? Many thanks for so many great tips.
ОтветитьThis drill is magic.. Thanks for sharing it.
Ответитьgreat help for weekend golfer!! thanks
ОтветитьBest lesson for us non-compressing guys ever!
ОтветитьLove this, Eric. Quick question; what difference in yardage do you find from the 3/4 to the full swing - mine are near identical and I have mates (decent players) who hit the ball further with 3/4 swings?
ОтветитьGreat video Eric Thank you.
ОтветитьHi Eric - great video and drill. When I tried it, I did the first step where you start with no backswing, with a lot of exagerated shaft lean, which then carried over into step 2 and 3. Your thoughts?
ОтветитьHow do we make it work for the Driver? Thanks.
ОтветитьI’m looking for better consistency with my iron strikes. I know my biggest problem is my weight shift timing and sequence. I noticed that you increased your toe flair during your transition on your 3/4 swing sample. I also notice the video of the tour pro you showed his lead heal would go in which is the reverse of your example but same outcome I believe. Is this by design for lead leg to externally rotate. Would be interested in your thoughts. Great videos and thanks.
ОтветитьWill this type of swing training work with the driver?
ОтветитьWhile throwing back a few at "The Stump" I was talking with a few club pros many years ago about hitting the "great shot" when you really need one! One of the pros said that there's one thing that every great shot has in common, the perfectly posed finish. It became my new swing thought. That year I dropped 9 shots off my handicap just going for the finished pose! Any thoughts?
ОтветитьSemoga Tuhan menyatukan kita,amin
ОтветитьGreat! very helpful
ОтветитьBeen looking for drills to help me create shaft lean and compression for ages, and your video helped me so much! Thank you and keep up the great work!
ОтветитьIn drill nr 1. Should i start in my “normal stance” P1 or “impact stance” P7?
Looking forward to trying this. Huge thanks from Denmark.
Eric thanks so much for this feel, can you elaborate on employing it with driver? MUSHING irons but feeling like it makes me rush driver and it’s not clicking yet thanks!!!
ОтветитьLoved this video. I make good start thru to just before impact where I’m flipping. I think this is down to my chest not turning. I see this speed thru impact really helping. Can’t wait to try it
ОтветитьSecret to hitting a 7 iron that far.. having stronger lofts
ОтветитьGreat idea
ОтветитьIncredible drill, I should say so! In just one session today doing 9 holes I put this into effect without any prior practice. I have never followed through correctly in 20+years, that was until today. What a difference it makes to ball striking. I was actually told after that my swing looked elegant - what at 78-years of age? I have really learnt something great from this video. Thank you Cogorno Golf
Ответитьvery helpful
ОтветитьSuper. What I like is how you relate "feeling wise" to the student. Thank you!
