I've been a subscriber for years; but rarely comment. I just wanted to put it out there, that your knife channel is one of the best I've ever seen.

You give truly honest reviews, and always include the pros and cons. When you do find a lot of cons, you still make suggestions that would make the knife worth having, versus just bashing it, as many channels do. That's fantastic, because not only are your videos professional and fair, they also educate people about knives, without being preachy and condescending. shoehorn it in, and making the video convoluted and awkward.

You just have a really informative channel, while also being entertaining.

Hi, I have a question for you. Watching the video, it seems like a good knife, but I'm undecided between the Leathernek and the Razor Tek. I know that both have a good reputation as excellent knives, but in your experience, which one would you choose and why? I hope you can read this comment and I appreciate your time.

I haven’t taken a serious look at CS since it was sold. Especially since they immediately reduced the thickness of some of their knives while charging the same.
I’m watching this a year later and the price is $95. Still a no for me. Same goes for the Republic (S35VN) at $180. Now it’s $220 at BHQ. I’ve just soured on the entire company. Now this has become a rant.

I don't know one year ago, but here in Europe, this is now half the price of an Esee-6.. then again, American knives cost double over here. This is currently around $95, whereas the Esee-6 is close to $180.

Though I liked the knife itself, the handle is kind of awful on this one, it hurts your hand, you wouldn't want to do any heavy-duty work without gloves.

Why pay that much when I can get s35vn for a few buck more? This knife shows just how far removed from their customers/ reality those corporate boobs REALLY ARE.

It's robbery. Aus6, Aus8, 440a, 440b, 12c27, 14c28n are all better steels. And they are all around the same price as Thysen Krupp 4116. The reason this steel is used is because it is easier on the blanking dies. The more carbon in the steel, the more often the dies have to be serviced. The CS outdoorsman uses a far superior steel and it sells for $139.

As much as I dislike your opinions on some knives, you sold me on this knife. Strange that you paid that much for this knife which is exactly how much it costs if I'm buying this here in Canada. I gotta get this knife because I love hard use knives.

P.S. You forgot to state the SIZE of the blade!!!! There are currently the 3", 4", and 6.5".

First of all, why buy a knife company if you don't plan to cash in on the brand name? And there's no better way to cash in on a brand name than to overcharge for a actual product. I mean, people are more likely to want a status brand than a good product overall.

Also.... to be entirely fair, 1095 is also a cheap steel. Yes, it's a very good steel, but by the pound, it's likely quite a bit cheaper than 4116 stainless and it's easier to work with.

You paid how much for 4116 steel? I’ve got a couple Cold Steels with 4116 blades. Under Lynn Thompson it was an entry level steel. I have seen other companies treating it as a high end steel asking between $100-$200 . Cold Steel does a pretty good heat treat on the steel kinda like, dare I say, Buck does with 420HC and their heat treat. As for me, I will not pay over $100 for a knife. The 2 most expensive ones I have are an $80 and a $70 , both hand made. I get by without super steels and do just fine with lower level steels. If I could afford or be willing to pay high prices on my knives you would see a Ruana on my hip.
