rotary are cool and all. However, im tired of people saying they are reliable. Yes, they are reliable but at what cost? Thats the question. I dont care if the engine is a dorito. That engine is a money pit and you know it. Just get a miata.....

Hi i have some codes on my rx8 it goes to limp mode and the code started whit p0107 change that out then the P1688 came the engien lamp came but also the coolant.. So what now is there a short. Im going mad since my car is standing outside in snow now first time in 5 years it been outside. By the way this happend after storing it for 6 years. Then taking it to mazda doing some work changing callback parts and doing the EU test. Told them to do a deep test and it had been stored that long. But they never did it, Now i do not trust them. 2miles after i got the car form the mazda shop it started whit litte loss power. Did not even see it at once. But then the engien light came and i had to tow the car home the rest 3km..

I've had the sunvisor and starter problem and am currently experiencing a likely flooding issue with my Rx8 atm..

You forgot to mention the clutch pedal the cracks on the joints over time. Either replace it or reinforce it by welding it.

The biggest problems with rotary cars are people not knowing how to properly maintain them.. you have to know what your getting into, there not normal automobiles

I Bought a Gen 1 RX8 with fucked Apex seals on purpuose, to rebuild it, so i wonder, is there an after market option, for the third injector?

This car is a bomb, buy it for fun, don't buy it as an everyday car

I’m being told my Rx8 has a gasket leak but also misfiring on two cylinders white smoke does come out my exhaust I went to drive the car she was running fine until I started driving and went into 2nd gear and she stalled out now she won’t start any suggestions?

Don't buy mazda vehicles that's a garbage car brand 👎

Do not buy a cheap catalytic converter. That is a huge mistake. And the cats go bad on these due to poor ignition systems. So JUST replacing the cat is a waste of money because it's going to go out like the first one did because the root issue was never fixed.

And the apex seals were not the problem with the rx8s. It was the corner seals due to the reasons above. The corner seal goes over the exhaust ports on the MSP 13b engines. So when the ignition system isn't working to its full capacity, it sends unburnt fuel down into the exhaust, which over a period of time clogs the cats. If not fixed immediately, it put back pressure and heat on that tiny corner seal and it will Crack or fall out completely. That was the biggest issue with the rx8s. Most would still be running if people knew this.

It seems like rx8 is that type of car that you have to know how it works which i think is a good thing. Like a child taking care of 😊

body control module error . ABS error are the hardest things to repair and diagnose in mazda . Mechnical errors are easy to fix .

I got my RX8 brand new in 2009. Just had my first issue with the Sun visor breaking. Has been a great, problem free car.

I superglued my sunvisor it works as new
