What makes boxing interesting, is that you can have fighter 1 beat fighter 2, lose to fighter 3, and somehow fighter 2 can beat fighter 3. It's all about one's boxing style. One fighter may find the other one very difficult and uncomfortable to box, while his loser may beat that fighter. Same contradiction exists in soccer WC games.
