1977 Raiders at Broncos AFC Championship

That denver run defense was ridiculously good. Randy gradishar making all this tackles, and lyle alzado making it hell for o-line men made it tough for teams to run the ball against the broncos

Broncos were the worst team to ever make the super bowl up to that time. They had a terrible offense with a broken down gimpy QB, lousy running backs and wide receivers and a sandlot offensive line. Their supposed great "Orange Crush" defense was exposed in the Super Bowl. Any team that had Lyle Alzado, the juicer as a leader was bound to fail. Their easy schedule and their fanatical fan base and high altitude carried them that far.

The loss was a drag, yeah. But i remember Morton throwing a great game.. against much adversity. Raiders got Alzado so's they wouldn't have to play against him..

No one cooler under pressure than Snake! Too bad we didn't get SB XII with a Raiders-Cowboys Super Bowl - would have been a memorable one!

Watching this because of Vic Lombardi's Top 5 Bronco moments recommendation. Been a Bronco fan all my life, but this happened before my time.

It's very telling that multiple replays or discussion of Rob Lytle's goal line fumble were not shown. Even back then the NFL was a corrupt political organization that talked about fair but when an obvious opportunity arose they refused to even glance in the mirror that highlighted one of their shortcomings. The embarrassing SB 12 should have been Raiders - Cowboys. That it was so embarrassing for the Broncos seems very much like karma.

Sure would have loved to see a Raiders vs Cowboys in 77 sb. Would have been a smoker. The other 2 epic sb's that would have been epic are 85 bears vs dolphins in a rematch but the dolphins inexplicably lost afc championship to the pats. The 3rd one is the 99 broncos vs the 16-1 vikings who blew it vs the falcons.

Great music and just production , announcing, editing. NFL films in the 70s and 80s was outstanding

The NFL Officiating is as bad today as it was back then! The Lytle Fumble, The Woodson hit & fumble by Brady in 2001 & the piece of cake! The missed pass interference play Rams & Saints 2018 among others!

Crazy to think most of players in this game are in their mid 70s now
