Every time I try to grow a succulent from a petal, it dies without a single show of new life or it sprouts roots only....I think these videos are lying to me...or maybe I'm not using water

some succulents grow certain powder on the leaves and SHOULD NOT be wiped down, this will cause it to get sunburn, be careful about this as people are used to wiping leaves but for succulents, the dust is actually a defense system for them...
