Well made video.
ОтветитьReally miss driving my mk3. Been side tracked with life and other projects but videos like this and the many mk3 Supra forums keep me hopeful.
ОтветитьOne of the best videos out there on the A70. I drive my Mark 3 regularly between Denmark and the UK, and with the vacuum-operated cruise control it just eats the miles with that 70L fuel tank. Everybody waves, and everybody wants the headlights popped up! Plus, with a quick intake mod, you got all the turbo noise you'd ever want. One thing you did not mention, is to check if the car you're looking at has had its CT26 Turbo wastegate shim spaced. If there are washers or a spacer at the mounting flange on the intake side of the turbo, the car has had a rougher life than normal. Keep that in mind!
ОтветитьNice effort, trying to drive the price up on any car you can think of to fuel your auctions, I see lol
ОтветитьI sooo miss my 87 5speed maroon Supra turbo...
What a well built Beautiful GT car.
Made the camaro' s and mustangs of it's time look like poorly engineered badly built pos by comparison.
put 300,000 miles on her..
I have a 1990 supra yanked out the 7m and stuffed a 2jzgte in it and now it's a way better car to drive, putting down 600 hp to the wheel
ОтветитьMy dad was a Toyota mechanic and still had to replace the head gasket like 3x and rebuild the transmission twice in 5 years on his MKIII turbo. I drove it and an NA version and they handle like boats but gripped well (the turbo with LSD is actually controllable during drifts). Always tempted but they’re just not reliable with the 7mgte
ОтветитьOne of these with an automatic, throw a good aftermarket exhaust on that isn't loud, and put some good tires on it. That is an absolute dream car because it would be a comfortable nice car to take on roads like the ones in this video.
ОтветитьThis exact model or and edition please
ОтветитьI had one in 2003. 3.0 V6 twin turbo i paid £1000 for it! I was a good car until the headgasket went
ОтветитьBrilliant cars
ОтветитьThe Mark 3 was better than the 4
Ответитьgreat video. thank you.
ОтветитьLoved this car, and the Mitsubishi 3000 GTO. I wonder what the 2022 equivalent would be?
Ответитьmy mkiii keeps a smile on my face manual 2jz swap helps with the weight issue 😄
ОтветитьI usually love this channel but this guy does not know what hes talking about he did not do his research
ОтветитьThat means the Turbo has 10% more power get it right
ОтветитьNonturbo=200hp turbo=220hp
ОтветитьWhy did you say that the Turbo has 50% more power than the non Turbo? That's an outright lie
ОтветитьI owned two of them and while it's a good looking car and fun to drive, motors are not reliable and both my cars the head gaskets blew and cams, was disappointed with it being a Toyota and suddenly engine will start knocking on you. As an 18 year old I spent my whole bank account into these and usually was in a shop and I drove my gfs mazda
ОтветитьMy girlfriend in high school had one of these - white with tan leather interior. I think she got it in 96 or 97. I was driving a 1964 and a half red hard top Mustang. She would outrun me almost all the time lol. Her father also let her drive his 72 pearl white Corvette and a mid 60's model Cadillac around from time to time as well. We would do a lot of other things in those cars other than race if you know what I mean ;) Man those were the days!
ОтветитьMk3 Supra is beautiful, my favorite Supra 😍
ОтветитьUgly but fast
ОтветитьI loved my 1987 supra, still wish I had it.
ОтветитьLove the mk3 Supra but if you want a sports car and not a GT i say go get a SW20 turbo MR2. You won't be disappointed.
ОтветитьMk3 owners can we get a “BHG!” 😉✌️
ОтветитьMy first car. Found in a bargain lot for $2500 in August of 2000. Automatic Targa. Found out the hard way it had a leaking head gasket. I've lots of interesting cars come and go over the last 20 years but I remember that car very fondly. Finding an original survivor is definitely on the bucket list, with a manual this time ;)
ОтветитьActually as a correction there are three transmissions because there is the four-speed automatic the naturally aspirated five-speed manual and then the turbo 5-speed manual. The naturally aspirated five-speed manual is a w58 and the turbo 5-speed manual is r154
ОтветитьMe watching this while still saving for one 😂
ОтветитьDamn, and I thought I overpaid at $700
ОтветитьVery good detailed review. Thanks!
Ответитьwhat is this guys name?
ОтветитьI'm 26 years old, the MK3 has literally been my dream car since I was 14 when I discovered one sitting under a car cover at my dad's tow truck yard. When I was 18 I bought one with a blown motor but life kept smacking me in the face financially and I had to sell it before it ever got the chance to run. Nowadays they're so expensive I'd have to win the lottery to ever own one
ОтветитьOur 89 will rain a waterfall on you on braking after a rain storm. Even with fresh side rubber on the targa.
ОтветитьIt has great technology like a sensor that will tell you your tail light is out. Except when that sensor goes bad your tail lights go out. I feel like an EE at Toyota didn’t think that quite all the way through.
ОтветитьThis is still my dream car . Remember my grandma had one that was burgundy with burgundy interior
ОтветитьAs a university (1997) student I finally bought my dream car, a 1989 Supra. My luck it had blown head gasket. As student I couldn't dump money in this car as it required. Left a very bitter taste with me, I hated it. Killed my idea if dream cars for long time. Now I have mixed feelings about this car.
ОтветитьI will never sell mine.
ОтветитьI owned a 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo and I wish I never traded it in. I traded it in at 70,000 miles and it never gave me one problem during the time I owned it. The motor ran smooth as silk as was very quiet at idle. I've had BMW's and Porsche's since then but I most fondly remember my Mark 3 as my favorite car. And I loved the styling.
ОтветитьThis year I remembered this cool "Supra" my dad had 20 years ago that had super comfy bucket seats and I loved it. So I decided to pick one up this year (not the best timing with prices lol).
It's a hell of an experience. It's absolutely gorgeous and solid inside and out, easily the nicest car I've been in and I think the interior is one of the best ever made. Way different from all the econo cars I'm used to; the Supra is pretty huge doesn't exactly move like my lil' Camry. Never been so in love with a car though, the MKIII is a thrill to drive everyday and I always look forward to it.
Own an 87 Turbo.
That entire second timestamp/section of your video is every time I tell people about my 'fun car'.
"I own a Supra. No, not that Supra you're thinking of..." etc. Pretty much point for point exactly the same thing you say lol
But honestly speaking, I DO want to crank as much power out of mine as possible, hopefully staying with the 7M (rebuilt with better parts of course). Call me a hipster, but the whole 2J/Mk4 Supra hype thing is just so... cliche. I wanna do something different. I know there are people who've built out 7Ms, and I hope to join them; I do NOT wanna be one of those people who smashes a 2J in the engine bay and basically makes a knockoff A80.
Dawg the cabin is every thing but spacious and comfy. I’m 5’9 210 and I have to HUNCH DOWN or remove the roof in order to sit up and my seat doesn’t go back any farther so my knees are bent
Ответитьขอเงินแม่ยายปล้นเลย🤬
Ответить7mgte nope
ОтветитьAbsolutely excellent video. As an owner of a MK3 for nearly 15 years, you hit every single one of the key points. Well done!
ОтветитьNow I don't want to sell my 89 Turbo Auto Targa.
ОтветитьI always loved Mark III! weeps
ОтветитьStop making this car popular I can’t afford part for it anymore
Ответить
