I'm running for office in 2024
ОтветитьImagine how well this applies to a school election
ОтветитьYou should have regrets over Bush!!! Weapons of mass destruction 🤦🏼♀️
ОтветитьI feel like Trump won by taking a page directly from the playbook that made George Bush the President, only instead of Al Qaida being the enemy this time it was Obama, Clintons and the “deep state”. Trump’s policy was to just undo whatever law Obama passed, like the Obama care, and to build a wall on the south border. These policies are just stupid and no wonder he lost the popular vote by more than 3m votes.
I see another parallel between Bush and Trump in that they were carefully presented as the “men of the people” who always speak what’s on their mind and are “authentic”. People really fell for that and decided to vote based on this alone. They really fell for the propaganda that a billionaire and power family like the Bushes are somehow just like ordinary working class people. This is the power of propaganda.
Litton had the stories to become president and both Bushes would have lost if that man had lived to be 40.
ОтветитьI truly wish to be governor of my home Puerto Rico, I’ve been reading a whole bunch of books about history, politics, philosophy, military, economics, sociology, and psychology, I’m preparing greatly, and I’m only 14 years old.
ОтветитьAmericans liked George Bush Jr. because he was as stupid as they were.
ОтветитьLiberals brainwash the naive thats how they win...
ОтветитьSo he helped get bush elected and reelected but the state of modern politics is just too much? Gimme a break
Ответитьhow we let this fool Trump become elected
ОтветитьThe thing is, it’s true.
ОтветитьThis needed to be at least an hour long documentary. This was interesting.
ОтветитьHe has very sad eyes. I guess all those decades as campaign strategist, he had seen too much and has too many regrets in his life.
Ответитьso resourceful.
ОтветитьPolicy was mentioned 0 times during this. Very telling.
Ответитьone of the serious short-comings of representative democracy
ОтветитьHis comments about being uncomfortable opposing Obama was very refreshing. It's scary that a "story" convinces people to act in ways harmful to themselves -- I guess that's the power behind product advertising also (COUGH.. cigarettes). The truth about 2016 was that the Republicans told a story that convinced enough people to vote for Trump, and the Democrats failed to do the same for Clinton. The popular vote wasn't enough. Hillary needed the electoral collage and her campaign didn't deliver. That's why voter turnout is crucial to counteracting the massive ad campaigns. Sitting at home in protest is pretty much the same as voting for the winner.
ОтветитьWhy would you decide to support a campaign you don't agree with, just because you "like the storytelling?" The job of government is way more important than the ability of politicians to tell stories...
Ответить94% out campaign's with more funds wins
ОтветитьI am deputy secretary general to the united nation not because of my political skills, campaign or any of that because I bet there are a lot of people who had better political experience than myself but simply because I have what most unsuccessful politicians don't have "spiritual backing". If you don't have a spiritual backing then forget it, you will never be successful in politics
Ответить*LOL, a story, what's this? A novel? Another f**king manipulative media strategist who charge a lot of money for a simple message . As you said, "to play on people's emotions and things that they worry the most.*
ОтветитьBut ideology is all about building a narrative, too.
ОтветитьThe New York Times is an unashamedly biased source, moving on.
ОтветитьWorld will be better without USA
ОтветитьHow to spit on your lawn .
ОтветитьTRUMP2016
Ответитьbernie for the win
Ответитьgreat video, can anybody tell me the music:)
ОтветитьWhat a vile, pretentious, disgusting little person this clown is. But do you need any further proof it's just not a democracy and the campaign are run by people who also sell you toothpaste?
ОтветитьThe last thing a Democrat wants is that a Bush promoter tells us what is democracy
You are still responsible for what you have done
Cheating also helps..
Ответитьaaaaaand this is why one should strive to cast a vote guided by intellect instead of some fuzzy feeling
Ответитьplot twist: so this guy does have a moral compass after all.
Ответитьi expect more from NYT honestly i have better political incites then this.
ОтветитьHis statements at the end make me think he thinks Bernie has the better story.
ОтветитьSo the victim is democracy, the threat is political storytelling, the resolution is to question everything and the hero is you. Great storytelling.
ОтветитьDid you help him steal the election the first time. Times change and it's not Jeb,s turn a you guys think. Bush is like Coors, two is plenty.
ОтветитьFrom the comments it seemed this would be an amazing piece. What we got instead was information that majority of people already know, "story telling is immensely powerful." Ok? That's pretty obvious, and throughout history candidates have positioned their story and stance. In short, this is nothing new, I had high expectations.
ОтветитьAnd that folks is how we are led to do their bidding.
ОтветитьSo your the one to blame for the 8 shitty years of George Bush?
Ответитьchilling
ОтветитьAt some point I thought I was watching a conspiracy theory piece from one of my favorite truther channels lol.
ОтветитьSo this was the guy that f'ed us?
ОтветитьGeorge Saunders gets a thank you credit?
ОтветитьI wish to see more of this. The unseen side of politics, not favoring one side.
ОтветитьThe single best video I've seen at least this year. Fabulously filmed, outstanding content. Thanks NYT
