Himeno's death in the manga means a lot more to the reader (in my experience) than it means to me in the anime.
Though, seeing it play out in the anime still makes me sad.
Honestly, read the manga first and then watch the anime episodes corresponding with that chapter.
It'll be so much better that way. Books are usually better.
