Hey Chris! My macbook is an i5 processor but its 4th gen. Is there any work around? I don't understand why simply putting in a flat image has to be SUCH trouble and effort for my computer... it doesn't make sense. On any other video app I use I typically don't have this issue.

Why zoom virtual background not in android phones

I've found a way to get virtual background to work on any types of PCs. The real issue here is the PC system that doesn't meet the requirement of the Zoom VB.

Am sorry to say, Zoom is rubbish when it comes to native image/video card and audio processing engineering capability within its software stack. My 11 year old PC (just just 2 core and 2 socket Intel chip) displays virtual background on Skype on the same PC where Zoom functions handicapped.

Hey Chris I have a Dell Processor AMD A-6-9200 Rabeon R4,5 Computer Core 7th generation and when I try to use virtual it says my device doesn't support virtual background

Hi Chris, thank you for all the information. Just an FYI, I have a new Mac 11.2.3 with a green screen and to make the virtual background work, I have to uncheck the green screen box to make it work. I'm still trying to find a solution so that my background is crystal clear.

I am still not able to fix my virtual background because the background comes in front of my face. Do you have any idea!

Virtual background works perfectly for me on Teams but not Zoom, what a shame.

Thanks for this excellent explanation! Apparently my laptop meets all the system requirements except 1. It's an i5 4th generation instead of 6th generation. What I'd like to know is why I can use virtual backgrounds with Teams but not with Zoom. You'd have thought that if one program could do it, so could the other.

Great video! Totally understand now why my laptop is not working with virtual background.

Here's how I solved the problem of the virtual background not showing up on my older Mac with an I5 processor. 1)put up a green background (like a green plastic tablecloth from the $$ store). 2) Go to Zoom settings then select virtual backgrounds. When you see your face on the screen/box above "choose virtual background" click on the tiny box next to "Manually pick the color of the Background....." Your cursor now turns to a +. Move that + sign & click on the green background behind you. Now the tiny box next to "Manually pick the color...." should show the green of your background and your virtual background should work once you select one below. Hope it works for you!
