50s fashion ≠ Elvis outfits
Ответитьthe 50s are my favorite
ОтветитьThat. “ NON-STOP SNARE DRUM”. Is ****** Annoying!!!
ОтветитьI asked my grandpa what he wore, and he said it was just a pair of chucks, blue jeans, and a white T shirt.
ОтветитьIt's just so good overall! Always good looking.
ОтветитьNo one had more influence in men's hats then Frank Sinatra during the 50s and 60s. His Rat Pack look was the standard of "cool" for mature men everywhere. His wide tripple pleat white bans on a darker color hat just couldn't be more hip. Just screamed, Jet Setter!
ОтветитьDesi Arnaz wore Sport coats in the old I Love Lucy episodes that were buttoned very low almost at the waist to reveal more of the shirt with open neck he wore with them the collar turned out over the jacket.
ОтветитьDo you have any information on the black slacks with a pink stripe down the the right and left sides?
ОтветитьMy grandfather had told me some of his stories, and personal experiences from the 50s.
ОтветитьWhat are hairstyles for natural curly hair people backed then? I find it very dificult to find sources
ОтветитьOne of the problems with trying to find and wear men's vintage clothing is that men now are generally much bigger than they were back then. I have some of my father's really cool shirts from the 50s and they just do not fit me and I am not a big guy at all. I have a good female friend who wears vintage clothing all the time and she has no problem finding things from back then that will fit her.
ОтветитьWhat about the leather overcoat from the 1940s?
ОтветитьThis video is petty helpful for me. As a character design.
ОтветитьPolyester is indeed a PLAGUE
ОтветитьGentlemens Gazette, Love your channel guys. I found in the late 1940's to the 1950's younger men stopped wearing hats, while the older men continued to do so. I guess to style their hair more like Brando, Elvis and James Dean. LOL. Glad there's a menswear channel like this. I like men's suits and footwear especially. Thanks for the upload.
ОтветитьThe movie that really gets this right is “Diner” by Barry Levinson.
ОтветитьNo mention of dapper dan! down voted.
ОтветитьThe shorts and over the calf socks are nothing short of hideous. Please don't go in public dressed like this. Nice video. I much enjoy this series.
ОтветитьRafael, everything you wear is stylish! But that outfit that you were wearing screamed!!dirty old man cruising on a Sunday afternoon through a playground!
ОтветитьHigh-rise trousers with a dress shirt, contrasting vest and tie are way better casual clothing than what we have now.
ОтветитьWhat is it a trubenized collar?
ОтветитьHamburger helper 1970
ОтветитьHi! What was the book/magazine in the video? :)
ОтветитьI would love to see a sequel episode with a Lookbook or recreated and inspired attire.
ОтветитьDo you have a female companion channel?
Ответитьdo so appreciate the history on suits. Excellent photos. This is definitely one that would be or should be shown in a museum of designer class of high esteem. Superb. A tip of the hat to you. thanks again ever so.
ОтветитьNow where im from we’d call the winker picker shoes, roach killers, you can catch them in the corners lol. Kinda like the roach killer cowboy boots.
ОтветитьTo me, 50s fashion is timeless and attractive even today. It’s my favorite period in American history so far.
ОтветитьCan you find digital uploads of these 50s fashion magazines? They look amazing
Ответить“When you think of the 1950’s”
Me: fallout
I really enjoy your videos.... do you ever see the return of high waisted trousers? Very hard to find.
Keep up the good work. :)
Those would be engineer boots. The first biker (bikie) boots.
ОтветитьGod I wish the style of the 1950s never went away.
ОтветитьI am so obsessed with these wide collar shirts of the 50s. But it’s so hard to find them nowadays.
ОтветитьSynthetic fibers are extremely good for certain purposes. I prefer wool over them for suits, but these synthetic fibers today are amazing.
ОтветитьI love the atomic age, ive become obsessed with it recently.
ОтветитьHey man great video love the 50s style, the way you pronounced gaucho was pretty funny too.
ОтветитьWow! So informative! Can you do 1960s?
ОтветитьI still wear my hair in the slick back style. Theres a reason its still so popular today!
ОтветитьThe real men of the 50s sported leather jackets cuffed jeans engineer boots and pompadours they drank smoked swore partied and told it like it was and worked till their fingers bled for what they wanted they lived fast and hard and loved fast cars and wild women and they rebelled against the picket white fence 2.5 kids keeping up with the joneses expectation they listened to Eddie Cochran Ritchie Valens Elvis Presley Jerry Lee Lewis and many other greats. (BTW just kidding around not hating on the sharper dressed folk out there)
ОтветитьHavent watched you for a long while.. thanks god your accent is much better and u tanned really well! Keep rocking pal!
ОтветитьIm actually a fan of suspenders? Am I crazy?
ОтветитьSven, your hoodie/yob outfit made me laugh; so incongruous to your high class. Now I've seen everything!
Ответитьvery excited to see the 60s 70s 80s and 90s!!!!!!!
ОтветитьThe 1950s was the best decade for clothing, cars, movies, television shows, celebrities and air travel.
