Ironic how he did not condone the drugs given to him as a baby yet pushed the jab propaganda and then died suddenly.

You have my absolute respect Matthew Perry, as someone that has struggled with binge drinking most of my life I can empathize with you. I will be reading your book 📖 God rest your troubled soul 🙏

I always got this sense that he didn’t ever feel like he was good enough & that makes me so sad bc he was good enough. He was and will always be an inspiration. He went through hell and back & the fact he stood up every day & was able to bring Chandler Bing to life & create this iconic character that helped millions of us around the world deal with anxiety and depression. Thank you, Matthew for helping so many addicts & thank you for helping us deal with our mental health through Chandler Bing. You will never ever be forgotten. RIP.

There is actually one other actor who briefly had both the #1 tv show and #1 movie at the same time. Tim Allen in Home Improvement and The Santa Clause in 1994. Not to take away from the great Matthew Perry (RIP king) and the great Michael J. Fox.

I never watched Friends, but celebrity is a double edged sword! I can never understand why some people want that so badly. The pressure is overwhelming and you will NEVER measure up to what you personally think it is or what society thinks it is. (A crazy mixed up, endless maze, of the unknown)
No thank you!
I also know this is not just a celebrity problem, but it magnifies any problems you are having. It's just so sad 😢

So sad. He was a great guy. He's (in my opinion) drunk or high during this interview as well. He's slurring his words really bad & this is the worst I've ever seen him in person. Addiction is the devil 😢 Wrote a great book & opened up about addiction, yet still battling right here. I can't imagine people giggling & applauding as they think you're doing "good" and you're knowing the truth. I wish addiction could be wiped off the earth.

one minute in and I know he's high. he's high thinking he's fooling everyone, he's at half speed talking. for example...Imagine anyone on a late night talk show, their comments are quick and end super fast. Notice here the end of his comments linger for about 20-30% longer than someone you know is sober and is super present. Only a person on drugs would think they were fooling everyone and should go on stage while almost slurring the end of every comment

He was kept alive long enough so that he could write this book and help others. Pretty beautiful

I didn’t see Matthew Perry as a celebrity, in the sense that some people view celebrities being immune to hardship. I saw him as the human being he was, a man who deserved true happiness. I’ve always felt an emotional connect to Matthew Perry, beyond Chandler Bing. Especially while reading his memoir. I hope more than anything he felt peace in his last months of life. Truly a loss.

As a person who’s been engaged in recovery for 13 years (from heroin mainly) it will always blow me away how much the addict believes they have a right to “feel better & better & better”all the damn time.” Like they deserve this thing. It’s far from how life works. And its no wonder how this thinking error messes up one’s life.
