Loved this manga, though it's been a while since i read it. I should give it another read. I remember it made me cry.

I wanted to buy and read the novel first, and MY GOD IT WAS GOOD. Even the authors note at the end was incredibile. Too bad that not many of his books are translated

I just read it after seeing this short and honestly it isn't great. The relationship is cute which is nice but it tries hard to be meaningful and just kinda fails at it. What is essentially a double suicide at the end of the novel is phrased as a good thing which I feel massively weakens the theme of valuing your life in the novel. It's trying to talk about how life is meaningful but then makes these characters throwing away their lives their best decision in their entire life. It also tries to talk about just not caring what others think but it only ever works out cause of circumstance. It tries to tell you to live every day like it's one of your last but again it only kinda works out cause of circumstance (since it actually is the main character's last days). The story itself is nice but it overall fails at being what it's trying to be and it's short enough to not be annoying so like a 6/10 from me.

Damn people are that desperate to sell something, like this story and magic thing.

I’m more curious, what does this business do with that lifespan? Give it to someone else? Do they regret taking the years of other people, despite them doing this willingly?
