This will probably be one of the songs I go to every year on the anniversary now. Especially because the date at the beginning is the same day the last grandchild she got to meet was born. I just lost my dad this past Thursday. I was taken from him at a young age age and was put in a very abuse home until I was 18 and moved back in with him to only get 10 exact years with him before he died from liver failure due to a liver disease. I lost my dad about 9 years, i was 18, the worst part is him not knowing how i tuned out, not seeing me buy my house not meeting his 2 grandsons, we're not seeing me get my CDL and become a foreman running my own crew before he died at 18 I was going into bars drinking partying and my stepmom kicked me out about a month before he passed, I know he would be proud but it hurts to know that he's not here to actually see what I've been through and all the successes I have made, the biggest thing not knowing if he was proud of me before he passed. As a juvenile been in and out of jail on probation and I have dropped out of school and I have given my parents hell Theres days that it kills me to know my struggles or successes, I'm blessed to still have my mom in the picture but I've always found it easier to talk to my dad

I see y'all's comments on here and even though my ol man is still here we never really saw eye to eye. Makes me miss him and am trying my hardest to reconcile the relationship. He wasn't around much growing up but at 30 years old with 5 babies of my own I realize now that he is the only reason I have the work ethic I do.
